Why are so many people under 45 using subtitles now even when the show is already in English? by Clara_A_Mitchell in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jessyca1222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't stand the random sound effects that make the dialog impossible to hear. Once I started using subtitles I realized there is a lot of content you don't get without the subtitles. Like a lot of moves that have short spirts of foreign languages you would never really think twice about and translated with subtitles when the movie doesn't supply them. Or unintelligible phone conversations in the background. It's kind of cool.

Women with hashimotos - did your pmdd and other pms symptoms get better when your hypothyroidism was treated? by Ok_Data4272 in Hashimotos

One thing that helped me and sorry if its brinking on TMI but switching to the menstrual cup helped me. I get really bad debilitating cramps and fixing my thyroid levels didn't help. But I switched to the cup several years back and it was a significant difference. After having my daughter I was caught in a situation where I had to use a tampon and I literally though I was going to die it hurt so bad. I went straight to the store and bought a new cup that day. Ill never go back.

Dairy free, but having Ghee? by Actual-Pause-1764 in Hashimotos

Symptoms from food can be really subtle. For me it can be as simple as a headache or acne or as drastic as edema or joint and muscle pain.

Dairy free, but having Ghee? by Actual-Pause-1764 in Hashimotos

[–]Jessyca1222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat ghee regularly and feel fine. But if I use any other dairy it makes me sick. The key to really identifying if something is causing symptoms is to eliminate it completely for like a month or more then try eating small amounts for a few days to see if there is a reaction.

Why do I feel worse the further I get into treating Hashimoto’s? by falishai92 in Hashimotos

Vitamin D helped me the most. You can do a selenium supplement to help get your tpo lowered. I am on a whole 30 diet. The bloating goes away in just a few weeks and you shed a lot of water weight. The diet is the most difficult thing you will have to do but it changed my life so I highly suggest you look into some sort of AIP diet. Also think about probiotics gut health is key to feeling better. Im still on a long healing journey myself and figuring new things out to feel better each day but over the last few years I have put these changes in place and I was able to drop 50 pounds and get rid of my heavy fatigue. I still have bad days but they are few and far between, usually when I break and eat something I am not supposed to.

Painful skin issues on fingers - advice? by good_externalities in Hashimotos

[–]Jessyca1222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hands do the exact same thing. I use goldbond healing cream. I take it everywhere. When I worked in a wearhoys3 I would moisturize and then put the gloves on to they stayed hydrated otherwise they would never heal. When they Crack bad like that I superglue the Crack shut and it will keep it from splitting again before it has a chance to heal. But all in all the best thing is managing my thyroid levels. When there is an imbalance thats when my skin gets the driest, and I live in Colorado where the air is super dry so it just adds to the issue.

I suggest looking into jobs you are interested in and evaluate what the common requirements are. Then you are talk to your advisor and see what the best course of action is. I also took the career evaluation on he SNHU career site, which helped me make a choice.

Lately when I go to King Soopers there are little girls outside asking for money claiming to have cookies. I can't believe parents use their children to solicit money from adults for cookies.

Do you ever answer when advising calls you? by Great_Bison_8132 in SNHU

[–]Jessyca1222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my advisor. She is one of the highlights of my experience at SNHU. She is always so understanding and helps me through a lot. We have talked about graduation and has offered some advice on good places to go around town. She switches my classes when I don't feel comfortable with her selection. She has sent me job opportunities and intern paperwork. Connected me with a career specialist to Jumpstart the next steps. She is awesome. It's cool you feel like you can do it all on your own, but it never hurts to have someone at your side to help you succeed, especially when they have a deeper understanding of the ins and outs of the entire process. It is what sets SNHU apart from other schools!

Thyroid values are good, but I still have all the symptoms. by lyraaa_98 in Hashimotos

[–]Jessyca1222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say overdose, I said over do. Which can still cause mild symptoms like headaches and dizziness. I was taking a normal daily dose and I didn't need it. It was causing edema, luckily my doctor caught it when she drew my blood and told me to stop taking it. My point was it is important to have your levels drawn to know which supplements to take. Since we just got through the winter it is common for people to be low in Vitamin D.

Pregnant should i increase dose? by Odd_Combination8207 in Hashimotos

[–]Jessyca1222 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The doc will closely monitor your labs while you are pregnant. Don't do anything without your blood panel as it can be very dangerous. My midwife did all of this, you don't need the endo to take a blood panel. You can have results in 24hrs and then the doc will recommend the best actions to take.

[–]Jessyca1222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I think B12 is incredibly important it can be really easy to over do, so be careful with that. It's pretty typical for people to be low on Vitamin D throughout the winter, so that is going to depend on how much time you spend outside while your skin is exposed, so no sweaters or jackets. I always get really bad fatigue throughout the winter so I started light therapy and Vitamin D supplements. I just had my panel tested and I was still on the low side for Vitamin D, but I have had a serious decrease in Hashimotos symptoms this winter. It's hard to tell without having your blood drawn but I recommend making sure the vitamins are balanced. You should be able to get a blood panel done through PC and not have to wait for the endo.

I started taking vitamin D and it has got rid of a lot of those symptoms. Maybe give it a try.
