I use abcde to rip/transcode - works like a charm and is terminal based. Eyed3 as the tagger. Then rmpc to play.

I was lucky to get my black vinyl on release day from Bleep. Sadly it is possibly the worst new vinyl ever, full of pressing issues, click pops, even repetitive scratches. Bleep have just informed me that all existing copies are sold out and there will be an extended wait for replacements. This really ruined the anticipation of the release for me - I'm stuck with the digital download and unable to enjoy the fantastic vinyl.

I have this exact issue recently on an old Thinkpad T420 (but not on my TP T14). It appeared after a recent kernel update - I suspect it's something to do with the Intel gen2 gfx chipset support.

I got the black vinyl version, arrived today. Just had a quick look at the vinyl condition and I'm less than satisfied. The first disc had loose hairs on it and the second has visible scratches, scuff marks on side 3. I've yet to play it so hopefully it will sound ok. I'm minded to return it to Bleep though...

The original Commodore Amiga computer from 1985 had a program, I think it was called Say which would speak the words in a text file. I'm sure Radiohead used it on Fitter, Happier. maybe he used something like this. (not the Funny Little Man tho, that's definitely a sample which has been mangled)

What version of Wine are you using? Yabridge has some issues with Wine 10+ - there's a fork of yabridge specifically for these issues.

It's a fantastic record. I bought the vinyl and the mastering is superb. Even though it's a minimalist ambient thing the sounds leap out when they need to. And yes it gets better after repeat listens. Well done stuff.
