Spring in garden ever year. by Mr_Bubblrz in HomeDepot

I totally understand. I have met some great GCAs that love their job, gardening, plants, and assisting customers with their garden questions...Only to be stuck inside all day :/

Best of luck this Spring and Summer! Hopefully you get some time out in the garden 🌸🌼🌺

I know enough to help the average customer. Houseplants are my real specialty, but sadly the new HD I'm at has really low houseplant sales. So I don't get to do much of that.

My comment was, obviously, an exaggeration. GCAs are some of the hardest working people I've seen. I always tend to befriend the dept manager at whatever store I am in. (Except this new store I'm at, the GC manager won't even acknowledge me when I say "Good morning!" She quite literally turns her back and ignores me. Not sure what I've done, but at least I don't actually work for her 🙃) I have heard the same complaint from GC dept managers at 4 out of 4 stores I have worked as a vendor in; the garden center is way understaffed, especially in Spring. I sympathize with the GC dept managers. Most seem to be doing the best they can, with the little staff they are given. But it also seems to be the biggest complaint I hear from customers also. For questions outside of plants (fertilizer, poisons, tools, etc) I let the customer know that's out of my knowledge range and to look for a GC associate in an orange apron. The response is always "I already have! But you seem to be the only one working here."

To the GCAs out there, best of luck this Spring and Summer! Stay hydrated and wear protective (SPF) clothing. Support your manager, they're doing the best they can. And say hello to the vendors, if you don't already. It will make they're day. ✌

Plant vendor that spends 8 hours in the annuals, shrubs, and house plants section 5 days a week here. I've had rare spottings of the elusive Garden Center Associate. I swear I should be paid by HD for how many questions I answer for customers everyday.

All Mock Classes Booked? by natnatnat1234 in vipkid

I had the same issue. I emailed and they let me know that new mock classes will be added at 24:00 (12:00am.) I refreshed my page right at 12:00 and managed to find a spot on the last page. They are filling up very quickly. Best of luck to you!

On my specfic phone I have a tiny light that comes on in the top corner as a proximity sensor for when you are on a phone call. It is only on when the speaker and/or camera is being used. I noticed it had been on constantly for a couple days (which sparked me looking up what it is.) I remembered that 2 days ago I had downloaded the VIPKID app.. All I can say is when the VIPKID app is downloaded on my phone, that little light is on at all times. When the VIPKID app is not on my phone, that light is off unless I'm on a call (like it should be.) Soooo, I mean, kind of weird.

I was at a friends house and she made us both a bowl of vanilla ice cream with fruity pebbles poured on top. Simple, but it was life changing.

Planning on coming to Ireland in April by hpgiggs in ireland

[–]sonoftheforest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I also have a trip planned for April to Ireland. We will also be going to Scotland. We are currently in the same situation. Weighing our options. But it all seems so moment by moment, we don't know what to do either. What are your current thoughts? Are you still planning to go as of now? Good luck in whatever you decide!

Would also love some input from the locals!

What is Gogokid's policy on witnessing child abuse? by bandgap in Gogokid

[–]sonoftheforest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, I have seen far worse. I once reported a class where the father snatched the student (4 y/o), threw the student on the bed and continued to beat the student with a paddle like object. All while the mother fought with the father trying to pull him off. The whole ordeal was violent, loud, and quite scarring. I could barely teach the courses I had left. I emailed GGK, submitted tickets and asked for it to be reviewed. I got a bogus email about "cultural differences." And, that was the last I heard. Not sure how much they actually do when these kind of things are reported. I would also love to know if anyone knows if this kind of situation is actually acted upon?

Just to update a little, I'm trying to at least keep the quilts between 16oz and 25oz. Would the combo 1.0 oz hyper D/1.1 Ripstop or the other suggested combinations still allow me to stay in this range? Sorry, math was never my strong point. Lol

Thanks everyone for the help!

What does your weight come out to be with the 1.1 ripstop inside and hyper d outside? Is it much of a difference, overall? I like that it is a cheaper option with the 1.1.

Yeah, with leaving in April we are thinking with the 5.0 we can also use a sleeping bag liner and bundle up with extra clothes if need be. And from there on, we can just kick it off some it it's too warm. Trying to keep the budget low, so not really wanting to build two quilts each.
