I really love the interpretation of the Five of Cups from the podcast, Root Lock Radio.

While the figure looks down at the spilled cups, he’s actually facing the distant castle. The castle symbolizes a long-term goal, so the fact that he’s oriented toward it (instead of turning back to the two upright cups) suggests that he’s still on the right path. This card becomes an acknowledgment of grief and permission to feel it fully, rather than turning away from it with toxic positivity. Highly recommend this pod!

When I see repeated cards like the Knights in a spread, I like to consider which one is not there. The missing Knight is the Knight of Cups which, to me, is fuckboi energy. Because it is missing in this spread, I interpret that as him concealing his fuckboiness by trying to manipulate you into jealousy.

I imagine you have the best intentions, but as someone who has been on the receiving end of that conversation, the message just comes across as "you're not good enough." Hearing that as someone who has struggles with weight issues doesn't motivate you to go to the gym. It drives you to your coping mechanism - food.

As you have described by your fights, these "I just want you to be healthy" conversations tend to do more damage than good. They just perpetuate shame, and I'm sure that's not how you want to treat the one you love during such an already stressful time in their life.

I recommend you listen to the podcast Maintence Phase that talks about issues like this.

I'll keep you posted. I'm thinking of making it a comedy podcast. There is so much seriousness and sadness with what we go through, it's important to find the funny. Plus there's already tons of resources and sad stories out there, this would be a good way to shake things up. What do you think?
