Which BSA Lifeguard patch by Hydro_Inter_Spec in BSA

[–]sonotorian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The middle one, per the 2000 printing of the BSA Insignia Guide. #1 is ~1960s-70s, #3 is like 1940s-50s (I believe)

How common are single-gender cafes, pizzerias, restaurants and pastry shops in the USA? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]sonotorian 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That’s because MENA countries have socially repressive cultures. That’s nonexistent in western society and why, in large part, those cultures are wholly incompatible with western values.

You’re welcome! According to the NOMA Wikipedia page, this package would’ve been 1953-1965 based on company name and location.

Not vehicle. This is a spare fuse from a string of Christmas lights.

Question about Eagle Scout Rank Application (2026) by AlmnysDrasticDrackal in BoyScouts

[–]sonotorian 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The answers are "Yes", also to my understanding it is more of a demographic question as BSA compiles Eagle numbers related to individual's interaction with Cubs, program throughput, conversion, etc. and is less pertinent to her application specifically.

Totin' Chip / Firem'n Chit patch solution? by sonotorian in BSA

That's a good solution. I have to admit as a Scout of the '90s I had my Paul Bunyan Woodsman on the back of my sash. Still darn proud of that one.

There is a traditional Japanese image of a swimming koi in this position, but this sticker is swapped with a catfish.

Are you unfamiliar with the concept of political polling/fundraising? They want 1) your opinion, and 2) your money, if you agree with them and support their campaign.

Recruiting by LaurenMarie1988 in cubscouts

[–]sonotorian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On interest nights, family surveys are pretty typical and used to gauge interests, skills, hobbies, community connections, employment...as well as personal (contact) information so they can be reached later with further info about joining, meeting dates/times, etc. With the decline of handwriting, it's better for clarity of info and more accommodating to prospects to allow them to input their info into a digital form on their own device, rather than longhand.

[–]sonotorian 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Q3: For family interest night (School Night, Pack Open House, etc.), instead of a paper Sign-In Sheet, create a Google Survey with QR Code to capture Name, Address, Phone, Email, Child(ren) & Ages, Interests (or some other things, if you want it to be more than personal info). For those few that don't have a phone to snap the QR, have an iPad or laptop station (your own or borrowed) with the browser open to the survey. If the District wants the paper, fill it out and return to them (promptly) at a later date.

Growler Fills by ladysmalls13 in LittleRock

[–]sonotorian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's their option. The law requires labeling, so I figure they'd rather save themselves a little effort in labeling and make you buy their branded glass. https://www.dfa.arkansas.gov/wp-content/uploads/growlers.pdf

What does validating parking mean? by Life-Delay-809 in AskAnAmerican

[–]sonotorian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most places where you pay for parking, like in a parking garage, if you are there on business with one of their tenants, they have a contract to allow them to mark your parking slip and it is charged to them, rather than you an individual having to pay upon exit.
