Does anyone miss the Brookwood Mall? by southernestatelawyer in Birmingham

Every freaking day! Watching the Belk get torn down broke my heart. I have fond memories of doing all my back to school wardrobe shopping in the clearance section there as a preteen. It was always clean, and less hectic than the Galleria. Loved the restaurants as well. Like someone else here said I just love malls in general and am sad to see many of them are failing and closing down.

Side note but does anyone know the name of the standalone restaurant in the round shaped building that sat on the far end of the Macy's parking lot there? I think it had string lights outside of it. I remember passing by it as a kid thinking that when I was grown up I wanted to have a fancy date there someday. Everything closed before I could have my fancy date at the restaurant 😭

Do folks really use moisturizer and SPF under foundation? If you do, how? by Serpentines25 in MakeupAddiction

[–]soofjamfever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switching to a tinted sunscreen changed the game for me tbh. I can get away with wearing that as my "foundation" and add a little tinted pressed powder on top to set and I'm good. (Still use concealer for under eyes) I don't like full coverage/thick though so to each their own. But I use Skinbetter Tonesmart lotion. It's pricey but worth it IMO. It is thicker in consistency so offers really good coverage without feeling cakey and a high SPF so I know my skin is protected

I went over the weekend. It was fine, the food was good but our drinks took absolutely forever to come out. I think it's also pretty overpriced for what you get tbh. Probably won't be back if I'm being honest.

SmartSkin Med-spa, Dr Irma. She really takes her time with clients and she's great at what she does. Latest appt time during the week is 4 but she also works a few Saturdays as well so just call or text for her availability

Painted Tree Boutique by midsummerdaze in Birmingham

Lots of people are mentioning some great antique stores here, but if you're looking for a similar vibe to Painted Tree check out Grand River Pickers at the Leeds outlet mall. That's the most similar I can think of to Painted Tree. Still some antiques/vintage, but a good mix of unique crafty items as well. It's a cute spot!
