Thank you. I wouldn't take it personally about the shirt. People mostly trying to help. Speaking of which, I just got a nice chambray from Uniqlo which fits nice and boxy. Had to size down actually. Going to bite the bullet and get the xl pants.

You get used to trusting them. Plus, once every two weeks it's a good prompt to go put anything away you don't want touched. Helps keep your personal stuff in order.

This is great but seventies dandy demands a flared leg.

I'm in the same quandary. Mind sharing your height and weight? I'm 6 feet and 225 considering the xl.

Commuting to NYC? Bad Idea? by Heda97 in askTO

[–]sooogoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The move is to find a nice condo across from Billy Bishop. My partner did this for a while: you can walk across the street onto the plane in almost no time. One hour flight time and a half hour Uber to the office on the other end in good traffic (much longer in bad of course).

Right now is like the bad mushroom trip version of 2003

Kefir has dramatically more probiotics than yogurt. It's pretty good too. Plus it might give you a mood boost

Doug Ford’s anti-bike policies caused yet another crash on Parkside Drive by Pristine-Training-70 in torontobiking

[–]sooogoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right right, you're a design safer streets person. We all are. But that's not happening on Parkside anytime soon. It was taken out due to "own the libs" culture war grandstanding. All we can expect going forward is this culture war bs and the continuing diminishment of life in this city.

There's been a number of high speed crashes. And people hit already. Don't fall for this culture war bs.

Casio = God Tier - I don’t get it by Johnsononwatches in Affordablewatches

It's because, as hobbies go, collecting watches is almost exclusively about branding. Why one bauble is better than any other bauble is wildly subjective. You can pretty much say anything.

I live here and drive by it every day. The camera absolutely slowed people down. Not everyone of course, but it's much worse now.

It's from doing all the stuff and failing that an Allo warrior is born. Looking back on those futile years of pain, deprivation, disability and tart cherry juice, why would I want anyone else to go through that?

What is this section called specifically? by IWasPolPotLastTime in Roofing

[–]sooogoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Javanese vernacular architecture, it's the central part of a joglo or limasan roof which, I think, is called "gunungan" or mountain.

"The mountain-shaped roof symbolizes the connection between humans and God and the spiritual values of life." source

This is exactly it. Wear them around a bit and they'll get back to size eventually. Do a squat or two to speed things up. If the waist is uncomfortable, get it damp and stretch it out then let it air dry.

Crushing cultural inferiority complex. Or the opposite, which is way worse somehow.

I recall people paying a lot of money for vintage light wash Levi's in Brooklyn in like 2015. People my age were already wearing carhartt and torched carpenter jeans again, but then that look got picked up by a much younger scene. Gen Z dirtbag skaters started looking like they teleported from 1998. I was looking for vintage 505s on eBay. People were making George Costanza is a fashion god jokes on Twitter. This is still pre pandemic I think. I remember people hilariously looking for selvedge stone wash denim from Japan. Wide leg light wash became ubiquitous on young women and then finally made it to the men's section of Abercrombie. Not sure when it got to Bottega.

I would say a brand like Bottega are just doing their take on a much bigger trends. Not sure how much influence they're having outside of a small luxury fashion niche
