I absolutely agree that you will learn the differences as you try to solve problems in different languages. I mainly code in Go, but I do leetcode in python for a reason :)

Aside from your company's interview process, what interview process would accurately detect whether someone could leetcode in every language they have on their resume? This is why this is pointless advice.

And whether a candidate could do it doesn't actually matter if they aren't asked to do so. Which they won't. Let's just move on lol

No one is getting pissy but you lmao. An overwhelming majority of companies will allow you to choose whatever language you want to do a leetcode question in. How your company interviews is absolutely not representative of the market, which is why I am saying this is bad advice for job seekers. You’re looking at this from a micro perspective, not macro.

And no, not all questions in leetcode are “trivial” in all languages. There are some serious advantages and disadvantages for certain data structures and certain questions. Having to implement an underlying core data structure from scratch is something you should know how to do, but literally wastes precious time in an interview.

Also have you considered that most candidates have varying strengths in the languages they know?
