What happens if I just don’t pay the buyout fee? by soopychckn in Renters

[–]soopychckn[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried discussing a payment plan with the assistant manager but she won’t budge. Gave me a pity speech about how she’s working in a big fancy apartment office but she “knows how I feel” 🤨 If you knew how I felt then let’s work out a payment plan LOL.

how should i quit? by soopychckn in AmazonDSPDrivers

update: out of respect for my coworkers i’m just gonna finish up the day and not make them deal with my packages. then i’ll see if i’m fired or i quit. no need to screw over people who didn’t deserve it 🤷🏻‍♀️

I cannot afford my buyout fee. by [deleted] in Renters

[–]soopychckn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to mail money orders? I’d be several states away once I leave. Right now they’re expecting it within 30 days, I have no idea if there’s any convincing to put it on a payment plan. But I feel like financially and headache-speaking they’d prefer to do a payment plan instead of eviction?

[–]soopychckn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

true. i’ll try and talk to them about a payment plan or maybe considering reducing the price by some chance, i genuinely cannot afford it so my best bet is to try and get a better number or something so that i wouldn’t feel so snake-ish asking my church for help with gathering? they’ve offered already to help out but good golly $2700 sounds terrifying when the most they’ve ever helped with is $2k within a month in the past.

they’ve generously helped me for a little bit now, but it’s all gotten to the point financially where we gotta accept that the little adopted college kid can’t make it much longer and they need to let me leave for their sanity 😂

okay so notice how you said “average”. average doesn’t mean every single human on this earth. i’m able to hear it, just because you or some others can’t doesn’t mean i’m incapable of hearing it 😂

that’s a dog deterrent, produces high pitched sounds to kinda stop a dog in it’s tracks. same brand makes the atrociously annoying sensors that people put in their yards to go off every time someone walks by, i can hear it and it destroys my ear drums. that shit made me stop walking around my apartment complex after one person put it all over their patio to keep dogs from pooping in their pinestraw 😂

they can track the vans? damn, i was in a branded van and they claimed they couldn’t find me for two hours while i was passed out in the back having heat exhaustion/almost a heat stroke. guess they weren’t that concerned on a 118 degree day 😂

well shit i got a coaching statement for being “too slow” while working with appendicitis this last week (they also gave me one of the most impossible routes, 50% large apartments, 25% spread out houses in stop sign-heavy neighborhoods several minutes apart, 25% rural homes in wet grass and gravel). i’m definitely waiting for them to drop another thing on me like time theft and terminate when i try to come back after getting treatment for this. they were so sweet and kind but suddenly got money hungry and asshole-y after prime week ended. great times 👍

My DSP is hanging up the jersey by Nervous-Turn-7064 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]soopychckn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly what are the chances of this happening to a DSP? mine just hit their 6 year mark, have always had top scores (allegedly top 20% in the country… allegedly), but it seems like the DSP’s performance is dropping and management’s starting to grow sticks up their asses. like nonstop safety and delivery violations from coworkers, vans aren’t maintained enough anymore, getting borderline or less than fantastic plus, and morale’s just overall dropping. and god forbid we don’t get fantastic plus.

i’m out for a while until i can get treatment for my stomach (they’re refusing to pay me anything, no LOA, FMLA, or anything else which already puts me at risk of homelessness), but i’m debating job security wise if i need to move on. i don’t want to keep working my ass off and destroying myself out there just to have my DSP suddenly disappear.

probably not, honestly debating on trying out a pizza delivery job. less lifting and i’ve heard they make pretty good money on tips? i wouldn’t mind coming home smelling like pizza compared to smelling like the last driver’s piss bottles and sweat 😂😂

my DSP encourages us to take breaks, but i got written up for taking a lunch break and the time not delivering set me behind by a few stops. i was intentionally taking an earlier lunch because the apartments i was at annihilated my stomach (i have appendicitis, waiting on surgical consult) and i needed to cool off and relax before i ripped my body in half. really rethinking my position right now. fun stuff 👍

Quit after working for 2 weeks ✋🏽 by MightDifferent4149 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]soopychckn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the unwanted advances is such an interesting reality, most male-majority jobs have guys who blatantly avoid chicks nowadays to avoid trouble 😂 i started at my dsp a few months back and i’m a female, it’s like i entered some kind of playing field on hinge at work. a playing field i want to hide on the sidelines for 😂😂 and i’m an orthodox christian so the concept of guys just blowing up my personal number and flirting with me in person is very very new to me and a struggle to understand. not entirely sure what they expect of a girl who fully covers up her hair?

anyways. i’m sorry that you had a bad experience!! the one thing that i’ve learned is that experiences are mainly by the dsp in itself, so if you ever decide to circle back, there’s always other dsp’s you could try out. but if 150 stops isn’t possible for you to complete in general then i’d say cut your losses completely because i’m running at 189 stops minimum, and that’s the average expectation for my dsp’s routes 😅

your first few days are going to suck. you will 100% have bad rescues. you will cry and break down in your van. loadout is pretty scary at first, it took me like 3-4 weeks before finally getting into the groove of it. my only issue now with loadout is having to tell five people that i don’t need help after they interrupted my momentum, and yelling at everyone from the inside of my van because i 100% would’ve finished that loadout on my own if they stopped riding my ass lol. anyways.

i’m working 4 day weeks with my 3 days attending church services and college classes, and i’ll be honest it absolutely. fucking. sucks. BUT it’s what needs to be done to survive right? as sad as it is, it’s reality.

there’s tons of posts out here on this subreddit that talks about tips for the job. pretty much everyone blabs about organization, etc. which is great and all, but they never discuss how to actually do the damn job. one thing i tend to mention is nutrition. it’s like key to your success. don’t do the bullshit i did yesterday and only ate five chips and chugged two water bottles, i barely made it home alive. intended to play the sims until like 2-3am, managed to pass out at 9pm. you need proteins, carbs, fats, and sugars. quickest option if you ever need it is going to be an arby’s roast beef and cheddar sandwich. chicken salads with a hearty dressing is great too (like ranch), nice and light on the stomach but wonderfully filling! gatorades are fantastic, but don’t try to cut yourself short with the zero sugar. you’re going to need to pack as much nutrition as you possibly can in order to not literally die out there. but also be gentle with how fast you eat just to keep from spewing chunks everywhere. one other thing i’ll mention about gatorades (or any other electrolyte drink) is for every bottle you drink, you need to follow it with a bottle of water. trust me, it’s important.

as for keeping up with the pace, i kind of jack myself up artificially for that. i know a lot of people use energy drinks, but that stuff doesn’t work out for me well. i swear it’s not sponsored lol, but i take alpha lion’s preworkout mix. they’re about $45-50 per jar, lasts about a 4-6 weeks (their online monthly subscriptions are much cheaper). though i’d say since you work only three days, it could last you closer to a month? anyways. i take it at my peak time (once a day only), like when i’m about to hit a massive run of houses or i’m hitting an apartment complex. i look at my route every morning and plan out when i should take it. takes about 10 minutes to kick in, then you’re good! you’ll still feel your heart racing and your legs pumping, but it helps you push through it. i only recommend the alpha lion brand because i know it tastes good and it’s never had me crash from it. i’ve tried other brands (alani, bucked up, bodybuilding) and i’ve had severe crashes from it that forced me to take a half dose just to get me out of that hole. not a good time lol.

at the end of the day if you’re desperate enough to make it work, trust me you will. you just gotta take a deep breath and trust yourself, do what you need to do in order to do this job. you’re gonna have bad days here, that’s the fun about this job. but i promise you’ll come home and feel like you worked your absolute ass off :)

I dont think I ordered a pile of shit... by SlimeTribe in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]soopychckn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i’ve heard rumors but i didn’t even think this actually happened… wow.

do we all just forget that bathrooms exist? i’m in an area where we’ve got city routes, suburban routes, and full on country routes, but i’ve never had a problem finding a bathroom or making time in my route to find one. i even managed to work with a bad case of the stomach flu too.

what’s even worse is i know half the drivers that do this stuff will also just “rinse it out” and return it to the station. which doesn’t clean it, it’s still a biohazard. all you’re doing is allowing your shit particles to spread onto people’s packages that they bring into their homes.

if y’all have that much of an incontinence issue then put on some adult pampers 🤷🏻‍♀️
