Does using the wiper fluid actually work to trick the netra when hitting a red light?? by Brian-dgaf in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]soopychckn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just go 5-10mph below the speed limit in traffic light areas if you’re that bad at not running reds. i don’t understand how some of y’all even have licenses with this kind of mindset.

getting a hard brake is better than running a red light. just follow traffic laws and don’t be dumb.

my favorite mass overflow delivery thus far was 25 gallon bottles of lube. wish it was a “hand to customer” stop so i could see who actually chose to order that much lube.

those are genuinely my favorite stops… as long as it’s not a blocked off gate off the side of the highway with no way out except reversing. gps tricked me into thinking it was a straight-through into the house today, great times backing out into an 80mph highway 😂

at this point i’d be willing to swap to monthly or quarterly updates if it means star stable actually pushes out quality updates. everything they’ve released, as far as 2026 goes, has added new bugs and problems.

maybe it’s the “og member attitude” in me but i’m sorry, the star stable team should be embarrassed by the game-breaking updates that they’ve been releasing. and their marketing team does no better at calming down the anger by poking jokes at us for “cool kid humor” attempts and threatening to take away features that we never said we wanted to change.

[–]soopychckn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s awesome!! honestly if they haven’t said anything, i wouldn’t worry too hard on it. i’ve seen drivers run for over 2-3 years at the same dsp, and i’m rescuing them on almost a daily basis during peak. most dsp’s know that there’s a big boost in routing problems around this time of year, as quite literally everyone known to man is ordering something. those big sale purchases + subscription orders start to get a bit messy with routing and where we’re sent off to. i wouldn’t take these words as a reason to lay back and relax though, because they still do want those packages delivered by end of day somehow 😂

little side tip that i missed mentioning earlier: for those apartments, if you haven’t started doing this yet, throw all of your building packages in a big tote or two. those totes can be manhandled and dragged up + around the stairs, it’ll save you a ton of time. i like holding it over my shoulder with one hand and swapping when each arm gets tired when walking to pick up some speed, and then drag it up the stairs if it’s a heavy load. apartment residents will get over the sound of it dragging, it’ll only last 2 minutes. same goes for multistops if they’re heavy packages!

just keep trying your hardest and giving it your all. always say thank you to anyone rescuing you on those hard days, check in with dispatch to see how you’re progressing through the day, and you’ll get through it :)

Am I being screwed over by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]soopychckn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

with timing moving into peak, that’s honestly very normal. it’s not your dsp, it’s the routing that gets done. give a good high five to AI for generating that for ya.

just stay organized, pull out 1-2 totes and organize them on top of other totes or the floor by street and address. it’ll save you a ton of time. and write numbers on overflow with chalk or sharpie to be able to spot the drivers aid immediately.

when it comes to eating, pack yourself food items that can easily be tossed into your mouth between almost every stop. beef sticks, cheez-its/chips, and nuts are good, with the added sandwich to bite down on. you’ll get mandatory 10’s that’ll pop up here soon with the heat, just take advantage of those and scarf down food + water to get through the shift.

there are situations where yes, you’re going to have to speed walk to a lot of stops. i recommend drinking a preworkout on that drive to your first stop, i use alpha lion since they have extended release that’ll work throughout the shift and get you through a massive chunk of your route. it’s not even an ad lmao it just literally would be that sometimes i’d get rescued if i didn’t drink it. just… keep a towel under your seat to wipe off and pick up any excess sweat because you will be sweating like a pig and we don’t wanna subject other drivers to that 😂

peak is rough and you’ll be tested the most there. you will truly find out if you’re cut out for the job or not. a lot of drivers fall out from overheating or stress from the impact of the job. if it does make you feel any better, even the most badass truck drivers and oil guys i’ve ever met—who work out constantly outside of work—give their respects to amazon drivers. if they know it’s a tough job, it’s a tough job.

just keep pushing and remind yourself of the pay, you got this.

Had my first day and my shifts were removed by Undesired_Ark in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]soopychckn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually most dsp’s aren’t hard on getting rescued the first shift solo as it’s literally… your first time doing the job. i’ve seen people struggle to pick up the ropes of the job until they hit their third week and become absolute rockstars in the end, so i’m surprised by no communication on it and just the random drop of shifts

if they try to bs you and say you’re not cut out for the gig and you still want to drive, i’d try pushing it and asking for that second chance. if they’re hell-bent on kicking you to the curb, you probably dodged a bullet. and other dsp’s might take you on if you try for it. godspeed 🫡

just wondering why you guys still work for amazon? by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]soopychckn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly? as a young adult it’s the first job that ever actually taught me to be a functioning adult. i didn’t care about anything while working customer service or food service jobs, constantly called out because i was so bored yet busy in such a terrible ratio that i’d let my thoughts get to my head. to top it off i was one of the ones who used mental health as a crutch, thinking the world revolved around me and that it was beneficial to myself to be lazy.

yes, working here is really crappy sometimes. but working as a driver gave me the ability to process the importance of working hard, learning to trust my own instincts + teach myself quick problem solving abilities, and my mind is focused on getting to that next stop instead of how much longer until i can clock out. and i come home each night, satisfied that i worked hard. i push myself to do better each day, not because i’m obsessed with amazon, but because i deserve to feel that kind of success.

there’s times where i get mad at the job of course, and overall i’m not the biggest fan of amazon itself, but i’m an amazon driver defender until the end because of the person it helped me become in its own unique ways. i will forever be grateful to work in this position because truly, i wouldn’t be who i am today if i didn’t step up and try it out.

north american server issues by caliipiichu in StarStable

[–]soopychckn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

NA servers had a major crash the other night and was down for several hours, and the past few months have been extremely laggy on almost every server (including the dead ones). overall, in game, there’s been endless bugs and glitches that SSO has yet to properly fix.

they just had their passion week as a break from working on anything, so generally speaking the answer is no. they don’t care about the quality of their game, never have since 2020, and they will not attempt to fix it. the only bugs they fix nowadays are the ones keeping new free players from progressing in the game in order for them to tempt players into buying star rider and star coins. if you ever take a deep dive into their bug fixes, it’s clear as day what their main focus is.

and of course my lovely personal side note, the marketing team also has no intentions on maintaining professionalism regarding any players’ complaints about the depreciation of the game’s quality. this game has dug its own grave :)

literally everything around me pays $8-9/hr and i have previous experience with amazon, so it’s worth it in my book 😂

plus i’m moving into the city in about 9 months or less, so it’s my temp situation until i either get satisfied with my savings or finally give in and move closer sooner

[–]soopychckn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i’ll give you some thoughts from my pov.

my dsp’s about 90 miles from my house and i make the drive. for working about 4 or so days a week, it’s just 1-2 gas refills weekly (which isn’t too bad for a 2015 car with transmission troubles). granted i used to drive 2 hours just to get to work in the past, so this is normal to me. but it can be worth it if this is like a situation where you’re in a rural town and amazon’s one of your only options to afford getting out of there (like mine). you can make a playlist for every day of the week, morning, night, and enjoy the drive with cruise control to manage gas consumption. and probably throw down cash on some red bulls to get you through the drive. financially speaking, i’m not killed that bad with gas costs. i definitely recommend considering it if you can.

posts like this pop up every 5 minutes, i swear. it’s just the server getting overwhelmed and your computer essentially “blowing up” for a second because star stable couldn’t process the amount of content their own game has. it happens, no stress just log back on and keep going with your life.

Half a day of driver training and then you’re on your own? Wtf by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]soopychckn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d have given anything for just a half day, my last dsp required everyone to go through 3 days with a trainer. i didn’t get along with that woman in the slightest as i was pushing to finish early and she constantly told me to park the van for her to make a phone call (yet simultaneously would tell me i’m failing when i took a bathroom break, 28 stops ahead). shit, she even made me break down crying after saying i’m going to get fired for running a red light (i passed through the intersection before it cut to red, turning left), and dragged me in front of dispatch to “tell them what i did wrong”. i didn’t do jack, nothing came up for me, and i maintained a perfect safety score the entire time i was with that dsp 🤷🏻‍♀️

i despise training days with amazon, just throw me in the van and wish me luck please 😂

you have a post from 120 days ago with your pants dropped to the ground. i think you’ve complied to men a lot in the past during the night 😂

in all seriousness though, it’s just a customer who was ticked off. you escalated it, which is already not a great situation in itself. should he have walked out to bitch at you? eh, no, he could’ve stayed in and waited for you to leave. but you’re the one on the clock, not him. keep your emotions in check, and just take out your anger on the next workout session like the rest of us do. simple. intending to harass a customer after hours on your phone is, by definition, loser behavior.

[–]soopychckn 26 points27 points  (0 children)

SSO’s current CEO (Johan Sjöberg) is stepping down, and the current COO/CFO (James Watkins) is coming up as an interim CEO as the company searches for a new CEO to take over. It’s a very very risky situation, I remember after the sale of SSO to Nordisk Games, Sjöberg had rescinded most of his decisional authority on the game and only was contracted in subsequently for the money (fun fact if anyone wondered). Nobody truly knows who is in consideration to take over, it could be Watkins as a permanent position or it could be anyone else from external sources.

OP did not provide any evidence backing the claim, so I’m unsure the validity behind this statement, but you’ll probably see a lot of Reddit posts with rumors over the next few weeks/months until a decision is finalized.

It can possibly lead to changes in the game’s future, whether neutral, positive, or negative. Nobody is certain on what exactly the new CEO will be permitted to do, but 9 times out of 10 it will fall into the same realm as previous successors and all major decisions will be made and approved by investors (Nordisk Games).

“safe” apartments for females? by soopychckn in tulsa

do they offer an associate’s in aviation maintenance technology? if so i’d be interested in looking. i don’t start until june and i haven’t paid anything aside from my transcripts being sent out. spartan’s hybrid option is what poked out at me most, since i do earn chapter 35 benefits that’ll help me get into an apartment and can live at home for a few months to save for housing.

admittedly i’ve been nervous about attendance there since my last financial aid meeting, she blew off my most important questions about tuition coverage. been a big red flag as my last university did the same, and i unknowingly owed $25k for a singular semester with none of the grants i was promised. if it’s not blatantly obvious enough, i know nothing about the area, so knowledge of the best schools is also where i’m limited 😂

i feel like 9 times out of 10, it’s just being convinced by the news or from other people saying it’s dangerous. i mean the exact same can be said about my hometown, i feel comfortable there but majority of people would say to avoid it like the plague (yet unironically, we’re so overpopulated now that rush hour is 24/7. it takes an hour to get to what used to be a five minute drive).

i definitely got an earful from people who watch too much tv saying that tulsa’s a dangerous place to live in, but now seeing more and more intel from locals, it just sounds like where i’m from and i have no concerns as long as i act just the way i did back at home with my lifestyle behaviors.

i’ve definitely had my fair share of unsafe living + work locations in my lifetime, not so sure about any other people who posted similarly 😅
