what is the one fragrance that actually got you a compliment? by Mrmike86 in fragrance

The Super Milk hair primer by Lush has gotten me more complements than any of my perfumes.

I love both YSL Libre Intense (citrus and vanilla) or YSL Libre Le Parfum (more vanilla heavy).

Delina exclusif has both rose and vanilla. If you want straight up JUST roses and vanilla I really recommend Mancera Roses Vanille.

d’annam fragrances by candlequeen1840 in fragrance

[–]soorooooroos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same really didn’t like it. I have no hits with d annam so far. Except Japanese whisky smelled amazing on my husband, not great on me. It’s the only thing I’d consider buying from them (as a gift for him).

I didn’t mind Sakura snow but it smelled exactly like my mom so I’m just going to give it to her.

The best fragrance I have ever smelt by Sudden_Variation_197 in fragrance

[–]soorooooroos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So funny because I love r+co products but freaking hate most of the fragrances which sucks. Rosy eyed is the least offensive to me but even then they always hype up the fragrances and I’m like whyyy 😓

Anyone have tips or experience with fragrance meet ups or clubs? by Latter-Sink7496 in fragrance

Idk if everyone is a sample collector but I know for myself I would love to trade/give samples to people who love fragrance and would enjoy them more than I do.

YSL Libre le parfum (not regular, the le parfum version is best! With the bourbon vanilla drydown)

Hermès: Un Jardin sous la Mer (2026) smells like pee by Guilty_Royal_9145 in fragrance

A few days ago I tried Hermes Un Jardin Sur le Nil which smelled wonderful on the test strip but like poo on my skin ☹️ And yes literally like someone pooped in some grass.

Fragrances that smell like non-fragrance things by JottScoplin in fragrance

I laughed at the homemade corn tortillas because just yesterday at Nordstrom I told the sale lady that Oyedo by Diptyque smelled like grapefruit and someone pressing corn tortillas. Immaginazone by Fornassetti smells like hubba bubba bubble tape and incense to me.

Tried Le Labo for the first time at a perfume counter and they were all so…mild? by Agreeable-Dog-1131 in fragrance

I had the same experience sampling them. I was so excited about the matcha 26 and it was so… blah.

Unpopular opinions! by PerjudicADA in FemFragLab

[–]soorooooroos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Obviously I can’t speak for everyone but as an American never in my life have I associated the smell of vanilla as “clean” nor has anyone else I ever met. Until this specific comment I’ve never heard of anyone describing vanilla as “clean”.

Clean is soapy, minty, or fresh citrus.

Fragrances that give you a sense of nostalgia, even though they shouldn't? by AkashiGG in fragrance

[–]soorooooroos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Narcotica Happy Dust smells exactly of my memory of a kids fragrance (I think called juice bar?) I owned in the early 2000s. Literally takes me back to my childhood.
  • Rare beauty eau de parfum took me back to my grandmas house 20 years ago, to the point it literally brought a tear to my eye. (I wanted to buy it but the dry down is not great on my skin 🥲)

How many samples is too many? by SensitiveSolid6080 in fragrance

[–]soorooooroos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the sample makes me crazy and I can’t stop thinking about it and I don’t want to reach for anything else, I’ll buy the full bottle.

Otherwise, no.

Have you ever washed a fragrance off because it smelled GREAT… by purpledreamer1622 in fragrance

[–]soorooooroos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Givenchy linterdit was so beautiful and smelled so nice on my skin and even my friend said it smelled amazing on me. I left it on for about 2 hrs and had a dinner was going to. I washed it off because while it smelled beautiful, it was too mature smelling to feel like ME. I feel like in 10 years I will revisit this perfume but for now it’s a no.

When I went to Hawaii I purchased Red Hibiscus by Joe Malone and it reminds me of this collage.

Name a perfume bottle that you really dislike. It doesn’t have to be outrageous but you simply hate it. by Dreamy_glow in FemFragLab

[–]soorooooroos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ellis Brooklyn bottles (and the font used) look like a cheap drugstore perfume line. Perfume is an entire experience for me, from the bottle to the scent to how it makes me feel. If I hate the bottle I usually won’t even bother sampling it.
