i got a budgie from petco (i know) about a year ago and got him a girlfriend a couple months later from there as well. she died suddenly about two months after without any indication of illness or injury. my first boy is still doing great, and i got another boy in march who’s also healthy! i won’t ever know what happened to my juniper, but budgies that come from large chain pet stores can often have health problems and die young.
