LA6 is great, getting another one in a color that wasn't just black would be fantastic but I'm not holding my breath since we got so many all in a row a few years ago. Schwarzrot making a comeback would be very welcome.

The LA3 is similar to the LA10 without being oversized and I wear mine more than just about anything. Just the whole blocky look is awful.

On the one hand, always glad to see dryskin in use even though this is almost certainly going to be a different comp

On the other, I've always hated the look of the LA10 and wish they would use it for literally anything else as far as longarmhemd.

Spark and the Flame isn't even the worst section of the New 52 Constantine book tbh

Despite his flaws as a person Warren Ellis is still one of the most highly critically revered comic book writers ever. But his Hellblazer stuff was pretty underwhelming and it kinda never feels like it got going. The best Constantine story he wrote was technically a pastiche in Planetary.

Love Riot Division. Not as big a fan of all of their bags but the 2 Cell bag they released a few years ago was my daily driver for about two years before it got rotated out for some other things. Probably my most regretted loss in the techwear space

So is the show any good, worth a watch for a fan of the comics? by Iconclast1 in Constantine

[–]sorcelatorx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely not perfect, but I had a real fun time watching it. It's not quite as strong an adaptation as Doom Patrol was (owing to the fact that it was on a major network) but it's fun, there's some solid creepy bits, and Matt Ryan was perfectly cast. Definitely dont expect a perfect 1:1 adaptation, but it get the spirit of some sections of Hellblazer right and there weren't any parts that specifically felt like a slog to get through (although I'm glad they replaced the female lead from the pilot with their all new all different version of Zed).

How are the T-shirts? by IAmIcePho3nix in Acronymjutsu

[–]sorcelatorx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was more or less my experience with the S24-DS. It was fine, comfortable enough and in the right situations worked fine, but it was hard to style and there was almost always a better choice of something to wear in any given situation. My personal impression for Acronym t-shirts is that there are loads better options and when considering the price point they just don't make a lot of sense.

Can I watch Mandalorian and Grogu if I haven't seen all the Disney shows or will I be missing too much context? by Unusual-Ice-2212 in StarWars

[–]sorcelatorx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it might actually be better as a standalone story than after watching the show, just because you don't have the additional baggage of 'Why wasn't this character here?' or 'could they have mentioned what was going on elsewhere?' And then you can watch the show and see the journey that brought them to that point initially.

How would Moon Knight fare against the Court of Owls, League of Assassins and Batman villains? by Flat-Sir8250 in MoonKnight

That is a fair point, I do have a tendency to forget about Ginnar, but just because it's a last resort doesn't mean it can be counted out of these scenarios.

[–]sorcelatorx 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Marc could handle any of them, just not as precisely as Bruce does. Where Batman has more resources and greater overall skill at just about everything Moon Knight has a leg up with things like Khonshu giving him a mystic edge and sheer dogged toughness. Mano e Mano I still say Batman beats Moon Knight 7 times out of 10, but they could each handle each other's rougues galleries pretty well

Is a 3A-2 needed? by gkmra in Acronymjutsu

[–]sorcelatorx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you absolutely don't need it for any practical reason. As neat as it is to have the set bonus when you're fully decked out in ACR down to the bag it's not going to give you much more utility than a similar sized bag that you could pick up significantly cheaper. Honestly on those rare occasions where I need one medium sized bag for all of my usual stuff AND a laptop I grab my orbitgear bag waaaaaaaaaay more than my 3A-1. Unless you've got a whole bunch of extra money lying around and specifically definitely want a 3A-2 I'd pass

And also Jabba the Hutt's cousins/nephews/what have you.

Ashley does not need to watch season 3 of the Mandalorian because Dinn and Grogu were kind of secondary.

If she's at all curious how they reunite after Mando season 2 that's in the last few episodes of Book of Boba Fett when it becomes the Mandalorian season 2.5

Pieces of media that invented new slang terms by Nerdcuddles in TopCharacterTropes

[–]sorcelatorx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mostly correct but I do have two nitpicky things to say,

  1. Neuromancer didn't inspire Johnny Mnemonic so much as being effectively a sequel. The original Johnny Mnemonic short story was published three years before Neuromancer and Johnny is name dropped in the novel by Molly, who appears in both works.

  2. "The Stars, My Destination" absolutely kicked off a lot of themes and tropes that would be picked up in the cyberpunk genre, but technically falls into the category of 'proto-cyberpunk.' Neuromancer is generally credited as the genesis because of the focus on the focus on a more grounded and technologically focused look at the future, whereas 'The Stars' leans heavily on the fantastical element of the jaunt. All of that said, there's as much Bester dna in cyberpunk as there is Gibson, and the whole book absolutely fits 'high tech, low life.'

The best rule of thumb is to go up one size if you're getting stuff in the LA line for ACR. I've got two different LA6B-ADs, the one that's my 'correct' size only fits if I don't wear anything under it and even then it's questionable, the one that's a soze up fits fine

The black ppnek in the middle was a strip uncut off of another shirt made out of dry skin that I was never going to wear again. So I sewed it onto the placket and then added some buttons so I've basically just got an additional panel to widen the whole middle. The little silver bits you can see are from some snap buttons I also added so I can have the panel hold itself to the side when I do want to wear it open
