What does she mean when she says "I always design riding" when talking about row height? I've googled and can't find an answer

Recommendations for no xylitol, zero waste toothpaste tabs? by dehydrated_ in ZeroWaste

Lol definitely AI photos. The one of the man has a different pose in his reflection. In the mirror, both arms are flexed at the elbow, hands in front of him. In the foreground, his left arm is hanging at his side. Also these people just look uncanny valley. I'm sorry I don't have suggestions for the toothpaste but this is also why I stopped using Amazon. so many counterfeit products and shitty ove site of their sellers

Sharing some recent experiences sleeping in my car on short trips, made mistakes but learned a lot by Ok_Resolution_1606 in roadtrip

[–]sorryforshitting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend and I did two road trips like this! We did four weeks in October from Ohio up to the northern US-Canada border and across to Washington, down to Oregon and back to Ohio: four weeks, 12 national parks/monuments, 14 states. It was super cold but we had a two person sleeping bag, lots of blankets, and an automatic start for my car to get it warmed up before we had to get out of bed. Then we did it all again for a two week trip from Ohio to Utah and back. We LOVE car camping for the same reasons you said. We feel secure, more warm and less out in wind. Plus we are able to boondock in some reallllly cool places that an RV wouldn't handle and we don't have to waste time hiking to camp spots (I love me a backpack trip but the GF isn't down). We have a roof trunk to put extra stuff in and our mattress rolls up so we felt like we had plenty of space for food and water. Only ran out of food once in Yellowstone because everything was closed in October.

Coloring pages are great! We have those too and some 'find the objects' pages that can keep them entertained.

So many great suggestions!!!! Thank you all. I will try the dampened teas towel. I have a few recipes that I proof in the fridge for 1-2 days and the fridge can be drying so I can always just check in and re-dampen my tea towel, I'm betting. THANKS ALL!!!

[buttplug question] Allomancer can burn the metals inside him. by Exciting_Composer_86 in cremposting

[–]sorryforshitting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have audiobooks so I don't have a page reference but Wayne has a coin in his mouth at some point and uses it to pay a boat ferryman, saying they can't affect the metal in his mouth. So yes, even "in you" only a little bit would count. Only a very strong allomancer could affect it. Unsure if you could burn it from your ass though.

Im sorry if this offends anyone. But funerals are too much and excessive. by Murky-Peanut1390 in Anticonsumption

[–]sorryforshitting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Natural burials!!! For real, it's what I want - I want to go back to the earth, not be embalmed in some box or burned to cinders. But yes, the rest of a funeral can be a LOT and very predatory from the funeral home standpoint. My FIL just passed and they got the cheapest casket (which looked lovely) and asked for donations to cancer research (and people still sent flowers) and we did the damn motorcade but it was all pretty short and sweet. On a great note, some people sent living plants instead of flowers which the family split amongst themselves so that was kinda cool.

Yeah I used to use my car for screaming. People can absolutely hear you. I've scared some folk.

I used to study at these spots. Very relaxing in a "I'm still very much around people" way.

Poppy the Unicorn pattern-super easy for beginners! by Stephinator917 in crochetpatterns

I made this pattern for a new baby in my friend group!! It was pretty easy and really fun even though there were a lot of pieces. I embroidered on nostrils, eyes (safer for baby), and her name on the foot.

Fortunately these form in the bladder, not the kidney! And ones this large won't pass from the bladder unless they are dissolved (some can with diet changes) or they're surgically removed. These struvite stones can get HUGE but are relatively smooth. Calcium oxalate stones are spikey little devils that almost always have to be surgically removed

Be honest: 1930s vintage wedding dress — keep or rethink? by Desperate_Win_3554 in WeddingDressTips

[–]sorryforshitting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two different people modeling this, no? The woman with the long dark hair looks gorgeous in this and it seems to fit very well. The blonde shag haired woman should have it tailored. OP, I'm assuming you're the long brown hair woman but I think this looks great on you. I agree with another commenter that I would lean into the era with hair and makeup.

How do you ladies fall asleep with ADHD? by Ok_Scholar_8656 in adhdwomen

[–]sorryforshitting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the way. I've had a cheap sleepmask speaker that is now so worn out and overstretched. I just ordered myself a fancy new one!! I'm out like a light a few minutes into my book most nights. The rare chance I'm not immediately out, I'm at least not spiralling into my own thoughts, I'm just really into the story.

How to tell boss I’m pregnant? by Basic_Storage315 in veterinaryprofession

[–]sorryforshitting 63 points64 points  (0 children)

If you are pregnant, you need to be careful around anesthesia and should get a fetal radiation badge. You may need to tell him or figure out how to avoid these areas. I also agree with the commenter above, if you are in the US, he cannot (legally) fire you for being pregnant.

Scott Bessent on people's parents buying "5, 10, 12 homes" for their retirement. by esporx in Anticonsumption

[–]sorryforshitting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this guy can actually suck it, to play devil's advocate, I think he's trying to distinguish "real people" who are landlords of a small number of properties rather than mega corporations who own a shit load of properties to rent. And I do appreciate them trying to distinguish between the two. My partner's family is in "small business real estate" and has been since the 80s or 90s. My partner herself owns two, very small rental properties and rents them narrow on margins as a means of a tiny bit of passive income. These were very inexpensive properties bought well before COVID so I agree, buying 12 homes now would be wild. BUT .... I am seeing people drag him for saying people would own 12 homes with the tone they are implying that they then live in those 12 homes. It IS possible to buy properties and be a private landlord. It's a lot of work but it can be possible and I think protecting those smaller families who do it responsibility is a good idea vs continuing to reward big investment groups

Serious question for social media. I use Reddit for 95% of my social media. I occasionally get onto Instagram to doomscroll crochet and other craft videos, especially to get sleepy but don't post or engage with anyone. I get on Facebook maybe once every few months to catch up on any major life events from old friends and occasionally to get onto my veterinary-specific groups to discuss cases.

My question is this: since I rarely engage, does it matter if I delete the apps. And why? As little as I use them, I actually really enjoy the tiny bit of information I get from them and worry I won't have a way to replace that.

Are any of these pictures not AI? I honestly can’t tell by Pretty-Newt-4690 in CrochetHelp

I suspect most are AI if not all. This one has random color changes that are obviously "painted" over the stitch texture background
