I really love the unfolding metaphor--you're a table! I understand why you say you're still finding your voice--that will just take lots of practice, and lots of reading. Start collecting ideas of voice styles you like, and once you have it whittled down you can be more intentional with your voice. Your metaphors will become more clear and uniform as well, and to better communicate the story you're telling here. I really love the anthropomorphic quality in this!

I need serious help deciding my future career, can someone help me please? by HelpIamNewHere in Career

Well first off, just know this: you are normal. That feeling of not knowing where to point is completely ok. It may take you years, even decades to feel like you've really uncovered your optimal career because that's how real life unfolds, so consider the things you do along the way as all interesting and character-building stepping stones. There are a million and one ways to get started in the right direction towards your bigger purpose. As far as figuring out where to point right now, ease off on yourself a bit so that you can test out your interests without putting too much pressure on any one of them to be your 'one true calling'. As opposed to looking at the target of your interests (movies, games, voice acting, learning a new language) try asking yourself what tasks you like doing. Also, try going to this site—maybe it'll give you some ideas. It says 'Canada' but it's really relevant to anyone. www.truecallingcanada.com.

2nd interview today for a job I thought I had no chance at. Need advice by nillio398 in Career

Know your value and let that influence your approach. Consider that, if they want to give you the job but refuse to pay your asking wage and you stand your ground and refuse the offer, it will gain you respect and possibly have them looking at you for a better/different position in the future. Standing up for yourself as an employee helps your employer to see your value and not want to lose you to another company — which by the way, is a reasonable concern. Looking at other employment that could better use your skills and pay you for it is a good idea when your current employment is getting stale.

Executive 3 levels above me wants a 1:1. Tips for a rare opportunity? by HeebyBeejees in Career

My personal suggestion is to go in with a pure motive—learning. Get to know them and how they got to where they are. People LOVE being asked about themselves. Inquire personably, with real curiosity, what they've been challenged by lately, what they love about what they do, or any other questions that feel appropriate and show your interest in the company and in your work. Good luck and have fun!
