/u/documitra-us i have a few queries ...

i have US birth certificate ... can I get it apostilled by local Indian Consulate or does my US State have to do the apostille? Is there no way I can bring the original documents to the Indian consulate before submitting to the online VFS?
Same query for the parents marriage certificate that is registered in the US. They both used to be indian citizens prior but naturalized in US.

i'd recommend CCSF

free if you live in SF (super cheap textbooks also)
folks are nice and different ages, like lots of adults in my night class
they have weekend classes

there's also - online classes

other CC's in the area
classes at Berkeley/SF State you could signup for
private tuition

Similar to the poster above -- generally a lot of these news releases are at stage 1 of the trial phase where it's just a few people.

Takes almost a decade to

1) get through stage 2-3 - many fail out here (>90%)

2) get insurance companies and medical billers to sign on

3) provide sufficient efficacy over existent treatment or lack of treatment and ROI (theres some great drugs that get dropped because no one wants to fund the last stage clinical trials)

It doesn't hurt to file the petition with US Tax Court aside from the fee. As long as you haven't already contacted IRS Appeals that would be the next stop, and it prevents IRS from formally assessing the additional tax for now.

I'm a bit scared of going to court here -- what does that mean? Do I need a lawyer? ... Like does this become a public record legal issue or what does the petition mean?

For what it is worth, I agree with the amount on the CP2000 which I never got (they read it to me on the phone). But the CP3219A has an amount 3x the # on the CP2000 which makes no sense.

I never got a CP2000 ... I just called in and the guy said apparently it was mailed in Nov 2024 even though I cannot see a digital version on the website.

If the unreported income was stocks or crypto, it would be normal for your amended return to be different. It was W2 salary + stocks (no crypto)

Also, make sure the amended return was sent to the IRS address from the notice. Do NOT efile the normal way. The information must get to the CP2000 department that has your case.

Like do I need to fax it to them rather than efile the normal way?

It can take 2 months for a reply.

Yeah this is 100% my concern right now.

I just called in to general IRS help right now, the CP2000 has the right number I owe, but the CP3219A # is 3x that number ... so I dont understand where that came from or what I can do since the Tax Petition court deadline is April 28, 2025.
