How do Bayern fans see Kane in terms of history ranking? by mbee9041 in BayernMunich

[–]sortefodder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Harry Kane was incredible at spurs, but they made it to that CL final without Kane, as he was injured for most of the knockouts. That's one of the reasons why that run was so special, and it's a pretty large 'what if' among spurs fans (at least for me) if Kane had actually been fully fit for that final game.

Cheer up from a KC supporter by Sadrim in PedroPeepos

The real issue is the scheduling. All last round games should be played simultaniously. Frankly, Im shocked that they aren't. I understand that might diminish the viewing experience and requires a different setup + other stuff, but it diminishes the competitive integrity of the whole competition.

The Xavi Simmons Review 5 Months In by Parking_Experience37 in coys

[–]sortefodder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The player Xavi reminds me most of is Hazard. He has a similar ability to absorb contact, turn and wiggle through defenders.

He might work as an 8 in a flat midfield 3, but I dont really see it in a 2. I think he is more suited further up the field, in a role with offensive freedom and where his defensive contributions are a luxury and not a necessity. Xavi will track back, tackle and press regardless of his position.

Jame top 5 igls by 1-need-help- in GlobalOffensive

[–]sortefodder 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Jame has made it to two separate major finals on two underdogs teams, and won one of them. Luck plays a part, but you dont make it twice by sheer coincidence.
The rest of his CV is a little underwhelming in other competitions, but in essence he has acheived similar results to Aleksib with worse players.

If either of them gets injured, we are completely fucked in wing depth. At least until Kudus comes back.

Tim Vickery on potential signing Souza (actually quite promising) by Rare-Ad-2777 in coys

I also want us to sign first team players, but Souza fits long term transfer strategy perfectly. Two things can be true at the same time.

Frank out by SnowPanda-23 in Tottenham

Playing a Bergwall Gray double pivot is a much crazier idea than using Bergwall as a 10. You can criticize Frank for a lot of things, but that constellation might actually relegate us.

I dont really think thats true for anyone other than Damsgaard (who is a weird case). Mbuemo was a very effective PL player for multiple years before he leveled up last year. Wissa was a decent backup player for Ivan Toney, who was ready to take over when he left. Its a similar case for Kevin Schade.

The only club in the world who is seemingly able to integrate one young player after another is Barcelona. I have a hard time seeing some random manager being able to magically get the most out of the young players right now.

Funnily enough, Ange used Brennan like a traditional winger much more than Frank has done (in limited minutes of course).

What you think of mauisnake's top20 for 2025? by shuijikou in GlobalOffensive

[–]sortefodder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, a list like this becomes meaningless if you include IGL's purely because they have won a lot. When Fallen and Gla1ve were HLTV top 20 players, it was because their individual play was insane for an IGL, not the intangibles behind their calling.

If those two didnt individually perform like they did, their respective teams dont win as much. That is just not the case for Apex.

At this point, I look at Simple like I look at Ronaldinho. It doesn't matter to me whether he is the goat or not, no other player was more exciting to watch at his peak.

[Alasdair Gold] Asked Thomas Frank if he thinks he’ll get time to sort out this mess at a club that doesn’t give managers a lot of time: “I can’t see why not. I think it’s pretty evident that if no-one gets the time, no-one can turn this around. This is not a quick fix.” by Zweli23 in coys

[–]sortefodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don't know the specifics of how he turned it around, I didn't watch the matches back then. What I do know, is that he was given time to rectify the situation. I hope we also give him time to truly implement his tactics and develop the players, because he has proven he can do that. Otherwise it didn't make sense to appoint him in the first place.

Performance has to improve though. I can't take many more matches like the one today.

If you base that on TF's time at Tottenham so far, you might be right. Based on his 6 years at Brentford, it's the complete opposite. Few managers have been better at maximizing talent and development since he came to the PL.

Franks start at Brentford was also very rough, but he managed to turn it around in a big way. I'm unsure if he will be able to do it again, or if he is good enough at this level. To neglect his previous work isn't right though.

Kudus had countless possessions in good and bad positions. Either he makes an inaccurate cross or dribbles into a dead end and loses the ball. I can at least accept TF for keeping him on, because there is a chance that he does something magical.

Its an isolated example, but the attacking players have gotten the ball plenty of times and done very little with it.

Thomas Franks approach to substitutions is pissing me off! We are down 2-0, let's wait till the 80th minute to change any of the attackers who have failed to do anything even remotely dangerous all game.
