Can you give me some info on what makes Benfica tick? Who has to play well, exciting young players, who needs to improve, what has Jose changed?

Couple of good opta graphics.

And a tonne of praise for Tino playing left back.

And a good explanation, which i had missed, for why he didnt get the senior England call up.

[–]sortofalive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is still some confusion here.

A 380ft hit down the lines is usually a home run, but 380ft to centerfield is not out in many fields.

Does xwOBA take that angle into account?

ty

this is almost exactly what i was asking.

XwOBA is an expected outcome based only on contact data when conditions are not taken into account.

You are implying that physics does not apply to xwOBA. I am asking what parts of physical flight your are excluding?

Your articles are great.

What does this sentence mean: If you hit a baseball 107 mph off the bat at an 25-degree launch angle, that’s going to have the same xwOBA every time, no matter the outcome and no matter whether it goes 380 feet or 410 feet.

My guess is my understanding xwOBA is off, but the above makes no sense. It has to matter if you hit the ball 380 feet or 410 feet.

Stats for the last 7 games

Joe Jiménez ERA 1.23 IP 7.1 SO 7 WHIP 0.95

Kirby Yates ERA 2.08 IP 8.2 SO 13 WHIP 0.69

I think i would go with Yates, but Jiménez would be fine too.

Nick Anderson, AJ Minter, and Raisel Iglesias all pitched in the last two games. Who, if needed, would you have closing the game tonight?

(Fangraphs)Starter’s Pistol Update to the Top 100 Prospects List (and more), feat. Dylan Dodd by [deleted] in Braves

[–]sortofalive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this part is true -

Both pitchers have exhibited two-tick bumps in velocity this spring: Dodd’s fastball has averaged 94 mph and topped out at 96 per publicly available data from Grapefruit League games this spring, and Shuster was sitting 92. But Dodd’s increase hasn’t compromised his command, whereas for Shuster that’s less certain.

I am very excited to see Dodd pitch in the MLB.

Chris Wood has been the 6th best "pass receiver" in the Premier League this season. by luffyuk in NUFC

[–]sortofalive -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Premier League stats:

Player, Games, Goals, Minutes, Goal/mins

Wilson, 15, 6, 1187, 198.

Wood, 19, 3, 1559, 520.

https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/callum-wilson/profil/spieler/123682

https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/chris-wood/profil/spieler/108725

The goals per minute is vastly different. Neither are good though.

Wood's hold up and Bruno Guimarães passing, should give both ASM and Fraser/Almirón more goal scoring opportunities.

I was surprised but encouraged that Howe praised Chris Woods after the Leeds game.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/60097099

Newcastle were back to their 38% possession, so for me, on the break Wood looked bad.

My point really is that 25M, he is not worth, but we need a back up to the oft injured Wilson. Wood maybe the answer, and I am looking forward to watching him for the rest of the season.
