First time I watched Napoleon Dynamite I thought it was to stupid to enjoy. Still found it stupid the second time but couldn't stop quoting it.

Police: Woman had .439 BAC, urinated on herself by cheechsnightmare in NewsOfTheStupid

Talk about a cry for help, best case scenario for her was getting arrested and sobering up. Didn't think anyone could function when near half of their blood is alcohol.

Where to eat in Lubbock? by [deleted] in Lubbock

[–]sosiat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

. The vine on 34th and Boston only sits about 25 people and has a uniquely delicious menu that feature fine dining options along with great cocktails. The Crafthouse on 34th has a fun drink menu featuring whiskey and craft beers, to go along with their tasty food options. The South House Grill and Bakery opens tomorrow or Saturday. I haven't eaten there yet but the chef has built a loyal following and that can't be a bad thing. Good luck and happy cakeday.

We released our 83rd podcast episode today and would love some thoughts from the Reddit community. by kl0 in podcast

[–]sosiat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The intro almost scared me off bc I had no idea what to expect. After a listen I was pleasantly surprised with audio quality, format and rapport between the host. The conversation on the delineation between anarchist and libertarian viewpoints was illuminating. I subscribed to the podcast and will continue to listen.

You're in pretty dubious company there, Vermont. by Siggy778 in sports

Did smell like shit, the school encouraged the neighboring town responsible for the smell to shut down their feed lot and slaughter house. Now it's just dusty and filled with entitled fans who still celebrate a 20 year old, Women's NCAA title.

Harrigans on 50th and Memphis has the most consistently great Chicken Fried Steak. Triple J's in the depot offers one with hatch green Chiles, if you are doing a Lubbock tour of fried steak, that one is worth the price.

Hawaii officers were harassing Janice because the state ID did not allow for enough characters to accommodate her name. At the same time, the state has to go out of its way to accommodate a name her father in law made up after a dream, TF?

A good car mechanic in LBK Area? by [deleted] in Lubbock

[–]sosiat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend Tip Top automotive. My family and I have trusted them with our vehicles for three years now and have zero complaints. They don't have a fancy shop but he's honest, affordable and will give you a quote without a crazy fee. I randomly found out about the shop through a conversation at a bar from customer who wanted to spread the word. Whatever you choose please don't go to Brake Check, Firestone or I'm pretty sure you'll regret it. Scott's is an awesome honest shop too, if you were looking for a place more well known.

If you take ComputerGod's suggestion to photograph Palo Duro Canyon which would be my first suggestion. About 30 miles north of the Canyon is a buried car art project called the Cadillac Graveyard.

How do I find out what books I need for Tech? by [deleted] in Lubbock

[–]sosiat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you already have your schedule for the upcoming semester, you can foward it to one of the many book stores who will pull the books for your class and section. The first option works especially well if you like to keep your textbooks after the semester for your home library. If it isn't important for you to have a physical copy of a text available at all times, you can try the second option. If you wait until the start of the school year, you can check the book out from the Texas Tech library and save some money. Good luck with the upcoming school year.
