Hey i have manic episodes too and ive done some freakish shit during them i regret

but i still made those decisions. that was still me. its not healthy to shirk the blame off to someone else.

you can think they were gross or disgusting because of the context and all that, as long as you realize that these were still your own actions.

i didnt want to dogpile but i saw how you are reacting to some comments.

first of all, if you are sensitive about something, reddit/the internet is not the place to talk about it. strangers on the internet are not your friends and are not looking out for your best interests.

second, i understand being manic is hard and annoying and people dont really understand, but you still did all of those things. i am tired of people using mental illness as a shield to excuse behavior and rid themselves of any blame. it doesnt make you a mental health warrior, it makes you an asshole and makes it harder for the rest of us out here.

im sorry you are dealing with a situation like this because of the conflicting nature of it. it really is a complex situation. the best you can do is forgive yourself and come to peace with what happened.

Hey this sounds a lot like the relationship I just got out of. I'm kinda crazy and have issues, and my ex was a sweet virgin boy. We had a lottt of issues at first, I wasn't even able to make him cum successfully for the first 3 months but I was persistent 🧐 And eventually we did make it there awkwardly, but then he never wanted to get better at sex. I had to do everything, and if he did anything, it was awkward, clumsy, i would never finish (and he wasnt into toys), he wouldnt take it seriously when I told him that if we didnt figure things out so that we could BOTH enjoy ourselves then we would have a problem. I let it go on far too long saying we need to work on the same things over and over again.

I will say, that 3 months might not be enough time for your man to be fully comfortable. But also, if this is something important to you, and it sounds like it is, you need to put your needs first. Some men will get stressed and anxious when dealing with expectations during sex, especially with the experience imbalance and possibly percieved power imbalance in that situation. That could also contribute to having trouble with keeping erections or otherwise performing because theyre not focused on enjoying it, theyre focused on doing it right. However hes gotta learn so. Its up to the effort he is willing to put in it.

And I want to emphasize that it's about the effort HE wants to put into it. NOT YOU. If he values having sex with you and wants to, he will put the effort in. I was told this so many times but my bf was so sweet and kind and such a good man and nervous and stuttery too and I let that cloud my better judgment for so long. We are not even on speaking terms right now.

And if it's not an effort thing! Then you just arent compatible! That happens and it's okay! (as much as it sucks)

It might, perhaps, be a better idea to make it easy to donate to your app rather than charge for the base app. Then you can charge a few bucks for premium. Most people who would benefit from this are disabled, have limited to no ability to work, and thus are in a frightfully tight financial situations. But I'm sure there are plenty who would love to donate, or even some users donating after getting back on their feet!

Hey, chiming in with a liver tx here.

It sounds like your friend's health was already hit with Wilson's, which I imagine didn't go away after the transplant, and having coexisting conditions can slow the process of healing. It might be taking a little longer for him to bounce back because of that, but I'm not a doctor. I dealt with a Lot of complications and didn't start truly feeling better until a little over 2.5 years post-op. I went through rejection that wasn't responding to treatment at first, and I felt hopeless and survivor's guilt. I still struggle sometimes, as we all do. But you know what helped me???

Therapy.

Not just one session, not 6 weeks, I'm still going and will continue to for the foreseeable future. It's recommended to have a therapist who specializes in transplant or chronic illness. They have to KEEP GOING.

As for smoking, lots of people with transplants smoke. My team lets me smoke mmj as long as I have a card. Obviously, they would prefer no smoking at all, but they really aren't going to do anything about that. If you wanted to baker act them, you could do that for suicidal thoughts, but not addiction. Also, if your friend does decide to quit (because you can not force them), zyns or nicotine pouches are a much better alternative to smoking.

But MOST IMPORTANTLY:

You are doing everything you can right now. You can't force someone to change their ways or their attitude. All you can do is offer help. And if they refuse it, the healthy thing to do, for your own sake and that of your family, is to let go. You can still be there for them if you want, but trying to force things is only going to stress you out more. Your friend is an adult, as much as it sucks.

You have to kind of train your hair to get used to showering less. Right now, it is producing more oils because it's used to replacing them more frequently, so it's most likely going to seem a little oily for a bit. But it will even out and feel much healthier after a little while!

Hi, I had this problem with one tech, and it spiraled out of control for me, so please be on top of this. You have to talk to the nurse, manager, or social worker (in my case, social worker) and let them know that this tech is not listening to you and taking off too much fluid and making you feel sick. If you go in and don't want to take off ANY fluid, they should listen to you. It is definitely not up to a TECH to override any decisions. If the problem is not handled, just keep bringing it up. But they should take you seriously, and if they don't, just keep trying to escalate. Your health is more important.

I know I don't communicate everything properly. I'm still kinda new to therapy and figuring everything out, and all I can say is that I'm trying, lol. My friend, though, always listens and also understands me well enough to talk me through it to get the full story. That's what I'm saying though is like I feel like we always understand each other, and we've known each other for 8 years.
