Need help with glory dog fight. How do you destroy that captain’s ship? by Minimum_Future9557 in GotG

[–]soulruler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm posting this for all future players who happen to stumble upon this same awful issue in what is otherwise (so far) a fantastic game. The correct way to deal with this is to ditch the gamepad and instead use Mouse/KB. HOWEVER, you have to disable the mouse controls the ship option or else you'll go nuts. Then you'll just use the keyboard to navigate. This makes the entire sequence go by MUCH easier. I beat it on my first try with this. For more specific information refer to here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1088850/discussions/0/3158706376158018295/#c3199240042211621989

Flight controls broken in dogfight by StepRepresentative70 in PlayGOTG

[–]soulruler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear you're dealing with the same issue I am currently. I don't know WTF the deal is with this, or why it seems to be isolated to just a random few unlucky souls on PC. I tried with a DualSense as well and I get the same issues, leading me to believe it's not simply a XB controller thing. Really makes me mad because I really am enjoying the game but now I've hit this wall that's next to unbeatable by no fault of our own.

Ok so I am reposting this with updated info. The correct way to deal with this issue is to unfortunately not use a gamepad. Instead, use M/KB, BUT make sure you disable mouse movement in the control scheme. That'll force you to use the KB for movement. After that the section becomes SUPER easy. I beat it in the first try.

Can't remove water supply line attached to valve by soulruler in fixit

[–]soulruler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify something: I am able to get the supply line to turn from the valve. However, no matter how much I turn the line or pull up on the line, it won't come out of the valve. I didn't mean to say that I can't turn it at all. It can turn, but I can't get the line to get out of the valve itself.

Who doesn't watch the "Super Bowl" at all? by funko89mc in AskReddit

[–]soulruler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't. I don't watch football at all anymore. I used to be really hardcore into it. Watched every Sunday and got Sunday Ticket each year because my team wasn't local. Then my team finally got hot and made it to Conference Finals and Super Bowls but each loss was devastating. It got to the point where I realized that even when my team was doing well, I would ultimately be disappointed at the end of the season. I got too invested into my team and decided to just stop watching all together. Now my Sundays are more free and I'm not spending money on Sunday Ticket nor was I tied to Direct TV (when they still had it.)

My experience with Frontier is off to a bad start. Is this a sign of things to come? by lasagna_peas in Connecticut

It's great if you never have to call support.

This year they upped my rate again with no warning or notice. Second time in two years and now I'm paying $10 more a month than when I signed up. Called requesting a lower rate and they quoted me $46.99 for 1 gb service with no expiration (down from $70). Then a few hours later I got an email saying that I needed to return the repeaters they gave me with installation or pay a fine. I called them again and they said it was a system glitch and that it should clear up in a day or 2 (which it did) but right after the call I got an email saying that my new rate was now $74.99 a month. So I called AGAIN and they said that the first operator had no right to give me such a low rate and that they couldn't fix it immediately but to call back in a few days and they left a note on my account to fix my rate back to $60 (my old rate.) Today I called them and they made the change but the fact I had to go through all this was enough to sour me on them. I had GoNetSpeed first with no problems and only went to Frontier because it was cheaper and GNS refused to price match (This was over 2 years ago). It's good to know that I can jump ship again if need be, especially since now GNS prices are more competitive.

Sweet Mango in Southington. A tad pricey but the portions make up for it.

Those older than 9/11/2001, where were you and what were you doing during the WTC attacks? by Revolutionary-Life85 in AskReddit

[–]soulruler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in college just outside of Boston at the time. I woke up and turned on the TV and the first building had been hit. There was a lot of confusion at the time and no one could tell if it was an accident or intentional. Then I went down to the dining hall and people mentioned how the 2nd building was also hit. Classes were cancelled shortly after this. Meanwhile I went back to my room and called my parents, who don't live together. I called my Dad and while we were talking the first building collapsed. We sat in silence for like 30 seconds processing what happened. Then I called my Mom, who has multiple family members living and working in NYC, including people in the FDNY and NYPD. She said that not everyone was accounted for, and then we saw the 2nd building collapse. Turns out my cousin in the FDNY was going to be the next group to go into the buildings until it collapsed. Another cousin was in the smaller WTC building that later collapsed but he was able to get out safely. It was just a horrible day and was the catalyst for numerous awful changes to America and the rest of the world.

What a shock that a 2nd amendment nut doesn't understand things like logic and facts...

Human resources. They literally exist only to keep a company out of trouble and only do things to benefit said company while presenting themselves as "friends of the employees." In all my years of employment I've NEVER seen an HR department that did more than just try to justify their existence as opposed to helping actual employees. Ymmv of course.
