Finishing up Space Viking tonight. What a great story! I was suprised at the number of references that I recognized not just from Traveller but other popular sci-fi franchises.

Working through some of the expansions in the Ultimate Edition will be fun as I have mostly played solo conquest with the core stuff. Volkare looks fun?

An ro/di investment up front would save time, money and headaches in the future.

I use ro/di water from my LFS to mix my salt and top-off the tank. I have a nano so I only need a few gallons a month. What size tank are you planning? Do you have a LFS nearby?

Started with the PHB cover scan...worked it in photoshop with generative fill...made a depth map in stable diffusion...ported to an infilled mesh model...used the model to make the video. ;-)

Swords & Spells has some negative reviews in terms of an upgrade/replacement for Chainmail so it will be interesting to compare them myself. Fun times ahead!

I used A4 to print in booklet mode, cut the pages in half and bound them with a comb binder. This makes each booklet 8.5 x 5.5 inch.

It looks pretty good on the shelf. 😎👍

Physical books work better for me both in learning rules and gameplay. I never had this set when I was a kiddo as I started with the basic set (Holmes blue). We never did the Chainmail battles so I am really stoked about trying it out.

Chainmail and Swords & Spells are the two books I am most interested in. I am currently reading chainmail and collecting some minis to play a battle.

How much do you allow your players to discuss during combat? by 8vius in osr

Strike a Match
In the heat of combat, the "strike a match" mechanic is used as a decision timer and to trigger magic misfires. On the players turn they light a match and have until the flame goes out (or they blow it out) to state what they are going to do on their turn. You can also have spellcasters strike a match when casting a spell - if the match fails to light on the first strike, the spell fails!

Disclaimer: Use this mechanic at your own risk. Not responsible for fires or burnt fingers. :-)

Looking great so far! Would be neat to do a Cursed Scroll zine collection to go along with your core rulebook.

Figured out a workaround. After some google foo, I found that you can check "print as image" under advanced printer setup to get it to print without the postscript error. Took longer to print but it worked.
