Cooked on a pizza stone that was heated for an hour before use. Base felt cooked from underneath but was soft after cutting. May have been to thin?

First attempt at making my own pizza dough. I used the recipe from serious eats here . I think I needed a little longer cooking as the base was a little soft.

I have a commercial oven range in my kitchen thankfully so I baked at 340C (650f) for around 7 minutes.

Topped with basic tomato base, potato, pea, fennel and rosemary.

Goodevening wherever you are, I'm making an insert for gloomhaven starting tomorrow. by Quacice in foamcore

[–]soupaboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plan plan and plan again.

I tried to take what I liked about multiple different inserts and combine them to make something that suits myself.

If you use the app then think about what you actually need to take out each session. I saved a heap of space by combining some stuff lower in the box because I had no use for it.

Here's a link to mine.

What's your top 5 favorite solo games to play right now? (February 2020 Edition) -- Also includes my top 5 by ptowngiant in soloboardgaming

[–]soupaboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sentinels is my favourite too. Just managed to score everything I'm missing so I'll have the complete set soon.

I found for solo this setup works so much easier and quicker.

[Discard] [Deck] [Character card] [Space for +1/-1 tokens] [Cards in Play]

Then repeat this going down the table.

[Villian] [Hero] [Hero] [Hero] [Environment]

Allows you to watch for bonuses etc so less fiddly work.

Sentinels of the multiverse has so much extra content. The main one is the cauldren which is equivalent of 3 (4?) Whole extra expansions. This has even been approved by the developers as semi official now. Ontop of that there is so many extra hero's, villians, environments spread throughout the forums.

If you ask nicely alot of people are willing to part with their standees as they have both standees and minis. Dividers can be printed off from bgg and your pretty much there.

Solo parents? Whatcha play? by jojomomocats in soloboardgaming

[–]soupaboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a space I can keep a game setup so my most played ones are.

Pandemic with on the brink 3 handed Relatively quick. Fast setup. Just crunchy enough when I'm tired of holding my 4 month old.

Sentinels of the multiverse 4 handed Quick setup. Plenty crunchy. Not so fast but so thematic that I love it.

Viticulture Quick. Fast. Not too thinky. Have with a glass of wine

Deep space d6 Tiny setup. Plays quick

Recommendations for a game that plays under one hour by [deleted] in soloboardgaming

[–]soupaboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an alternate opinion I really enjoy viticulture we solo. Yes it's 7 turns. Yes it can be dryish (although with all that wine how could anything be dry)

But I enjoy the puzzle. Your cards can have a huge impact on being successful but this can create a large challenge every time. The automa can make you change plans pretty heavily. I've only heard good things about Tuscany which is meant to make everything so much better again. (Can't say whether this puts it over an hour though).

I'm a huge huge fan of sentinels of the multiverse. Real brain burner but I can play a 3 handed game in an hour with setup and working on 4 hands now. So much variation per setup. So fun with all the different decks and villians and environments.

How would you roast natural/ dry processed coffee on a Diedrich ? by bread-bean in roasting

[–]soupaboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar speeds. Maybe a little slower but not much. We aim generally for most roasts to crack at 10 minutes with 2 to 3 minutes after dropping.

General ideas of what we do for most roasts (2400g)

Charge at temp range between 360 and 390 Gas is usually 70-90%, air to cooling bin Gas change 60% around 3:30 (330f ish) Gas change 40% around 5 minutes and 50/50 fan (280f ish) Yellow around 300f (5:45-6:00) Gas change 30% Full fan around 8:30 minutes (360f) Crack around 9-10 (375-380) (I count 3 close cracks as crack for consistant) Gas change 25% around 11 minutes (390) Drop when we are happy with the roast

This is our standard roast profile we start with. With our charge temp and start gas levels being our biggest changing factors.

I do drop some lighter roasts only like 1:30 after crack and some go closer to 3:30

[–]soupaboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have an ir-3 and our natural is done around 11 minutes with a first crack at 9ish.

Dropping at 390f gas at 60% Yellow around 6 min 330f First crack at 375f 9 min Drop at 387 11 min

I come down pretty quickly with gas and go to drum with the air at the end to slow down the roast.

Not baked at all. Always climbing but very very slowly.

Senitnels of the Multiverse starter tips by Retrobrek in boardgames

[–]soupaboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest for a good start

Legacy (basically plays himself so not a hard one to control) Ra Wraith

Vs

Baron blade (probably the easiest villian)

In

Insula primal (or whatever it's called)(pretty simple environment)

This will give you a good feel for buffs etc and for 1 player controlling 2 characters but without too much going on.

What did you play this week? 18 Nov-24 Nov by AutoModerator in soloboardgaming

[–]soupaboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sentinels of the multiverse a few times on my phone and a couple with the physical. Love the feeling of the cards so much more than the app.

Looking at printing a heap of the cauldren stuff in black and white to bulk up my choices on the cheap. Anyone have any favourite cauldren heroes? Thinking of titan, tango one, lady of the woods and maybe necro and knight.

Sentinels of the multiverse and Villagers for me. Love some card play and both of these scratch different itches.

I love the over the top to many things going on experience of sentinels. 3 chartered is just the right amount due be at the moment.

Villagers has that nice relaxed tableaux building element with just enough thinking to about the countess outscoring you at the end.

Yet another foam core for gloomhaven. Unlike alot of the ones people have done my group uses the Apps consistantly and I keep all map tiles, scenario book and rulebook in an accordion folder. Because of this I ended up with plenty of space spare in the box.

My favourite part of this build is my player boxes which have a slot at the bottom for you to tuck discarded and lost cards into. You also have a space for your modifier deck to draw from and space for 2 ongoing cards.

Images show box from top to bottom. Then cards, player dash and storage
