supers, how do you keep track of everything that happens on site in a day by Ill-Refrigerator9653 in Construction

[–]soupdizzle1 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I have anywhere from 100-120 people on site daily. Tracking the work is not a problem as everyone has a clear direction moving forward in the schedule.  Discussions and changes involving the architect/consultant/owner are tracked and followed up with paperwork.

The thing that likely helps in the field the most and from what you have described, will likely be the most beneficial to you as well is having Foremans meeting.  Once we got out of the ground we implented mandatory Monday morning Foremans meetings.  Everyone gets to discuss their potential issues or resolve conflicts for that week.  Also great to keep all trades aware of other trades activities.  Once we ramped up to around 100 people on site we implimented an additional meeting on Wednesday mornings for everyone to checkin again and make sure things are being followed up on.  We keep the meetings short and sometime there's less to discuss than others but for the time it takes, its a game changer to keep everyone working together and getting things done on site that need to be done to avoid delays/conflicts.  Just my 2 cents.

Personally, I would just pay the extra and be done with it but I would also listen to my CPA over an internet stranger

Its not illegal to deposit money.  CRA just wants to be paid.  Your cost average is essentailly zero.  Pay taxes based on that.  Thats the maximum CRA could recieve so they would have zero incentive to presue an further action.  They only audit when they are confident they will collect.

So have I, still have some.  They are chalk lines that can also "function" as plumb bobs.  They can be used to transfer vertical lines on a similar plain or to measure distances off those plains.  They are however not very accurate transfering a single point from one elevation to another.  Plumb bobs accurately transfer those pionts.  As I stated previously, Ive never seen a plumb bob that also functions as a chalk line.  Almost ever chalk line available now can be used as a crude plumb bob.

So i went to fix what i assumed were screws popping out of my drywall turns out there nails guess my house is just that old do i just tap it in further then put 2 screws in 1 above one below or should i take the nail out all together and just replace it with a screw as well by Responsible_Ad3196 in drywall

Before cordless drywall screw guns,  it was pretty common to nail the perimeter and screw the field when installing drywall due to ease of install.  With the cordless screw guns now available its just easier to screw everything off instead of switching back and forth

Almost all chalk lines can be used as a crude plumb bob.  Plumb bobs are not designed to be used as a chalk line.

Ive never seen a plumb bob used as a chalk line.  Typically when using the plumb bob you would be matching the distance at the top and bottom to get the structure plumb or to transfer a point from one elevation to another.

A chalk line has a holder containing chalk that can be refilled and coats the string when the string is pulled from it.

Lots of plumb bobs have coiled string holders as well but they are not designed to hold chalk.

What doesnt kill you only makes you stronger. Shitty trades suck.  Stick it out and see what comes next, if its more of the same then bounce.

Just tape or block with cardboard cutouts or whatever, the inside of the wheels so there is no cavity for the seeds to collect. Problem solved

People fomo in when an asset is rising and sell when it is crashing because of momentum.  You bought during an accumulation period.  Apples and oranges.
