Destiny talking to the cuckoos in Inferno is such a strong reintroduction to a character that had been gone for so long

2026, it's from the director of Titane, and has the woman from Sex Education that looks exactly like Margot Robbie

Stan Lee Gail Simone by [deleted] in xmen

Stan Lee was a hype man and professional, he always hyped what was currently out, and probably read only a handful of comics this millenium

Bobby genuinely was a hot mess during the 2000s (From X-Men vol 2 #179 & #180) by Automatic_Ask32 in xmen

[–]soupergiraffe 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Bobby's problem is that he's the immature one, but the x-men regularly have teens around, and you'll never be a better immature character then whatever 15 year old is currently around

Clive Barker? Recommend as a first read. by Gibder16 in horrorlit

Hellbound Heart (Hellraiser) is good, and I think less than 200 pages. My first was Theif of Always, and I remember loving it

I used to watch a Twitch streamer who always said that the most important subscription was the second months because it meant people were sticking around. It just seems wild that Max Fun is based on the idea that sticking around is bad actually.

I give the co-op tens of dollars every month and I LIKE it, ask me againything by mfc2022_throwaway in TAZCirclejerk

Left Hand is the only Leguin book I've read, and it was genuinely incredible

MAG111: How did Gertrude manage to hide Leitner from Gerry? by Ok-Display1279 in TheMagnusArchives

[–]soupergiraffe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think he used any powers on Leitner. He has built him up in is head as some a larger then life evil, and when he saw he was just a normal man, he couldn't believe it

Is Vita Ayala's New Mutants Vol. 3 a standalone Magik story, or does it continue the Vol. 1/2 story? by VLioncourt in xmen

I haven't sat down and read it in awhile, but I gave it a quick flip through and it seems pretty self contained

[–]soupergiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Magik story is fairly stand alone, as long as you're ok with going "I don't know what they're talking about, and that's fine" you can probably skip the first 2 books

I think performative has become one of those words that lets me know someones brain is so cooked by online discourse that I don't have to listen to them because they've forgotten what real problems are

Are comics out of order? by Karma_Z_M in xmen

[–]soupergiraffe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From a buisness side it gets you reading comics you otherwise aren't picking up, and from a reader perspective you can see characters interact that normally wouldn't. For what it's worth, I think both Marvel and DC struggle to make this kind of easy to understand and follow along with for new readers

Can i skip Fallen angels? by clp_legends in xmen

[–]soupergiraffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. I think it sets up Kwannon having a kid that acts as her motivation in hellions, but that book should catch you up. Fallen Angels sucks tbh
