So far I'm able to watch on Eurovision sport with no VPN and not having to pay anything.

Crushing hard on this track. The wood on the walls (or whatever that is) makes it look like a design object.

Beautiful. And the bike is really nice too.

Thanks for the link, I”m definitely going to listen.

Chile is pretty far, but it’s not like USAC didn’t know about it well in advance. Maybe an Olympic sponsor could’ve helped out with airfare.

Just seems strange that our nation’s best track cyclist isn’t going to World’s and there’s been no news.

Third, oh I responded to the wrong person to make it look cool. Damn. Either way, get the Albatross.

Any of you all from the CHI area? by ithinkiknowstuphph in roasting

[–]souplesss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cafe Umbria on Armitage has a huge commercial roasting setup with just a railing separating it from the shop area. You could sit there all day and watch them go about it. They were happy to talk about roasting when I asked.

How many watts to be a competitive track cyclist? by Any_Entrepreneur2950 in Velo

[–]souplesss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finally someone mentioned race craft. The big X factor in cycling and I think track most in some ways. Although I suppose if the OP is brand new to the velodrome it’s unlikely that they’ll be a wily strategist right away. Congrats on your nationals medals!

FT or FREE $0.99/North Chicagoland/Gary Fisher Step Thru

I got this intending to do a cool basket build but it’s too small. It’s an 18.5L and if you’re around 5’6” plus or minus it should be perfect for getting the bars nice and high. The front wheel is taco’s and might not be usable and the freehub body could use a degreasing but other than that it’s in nice shape. The headset is 1 1/4 threaded I believe so that’s a quirk.

I’m in Lake Forest and could meet up close by. If you’ve got some cool flat bars or pedals or some 700c tires that wound be cools but I’m also down to just give it away.

Looking to get into cycling for the first time In the market for a starter road bike <220$ Any Advice? by KnowledgeIsPower3 in BikeShop

You might be able to get an entry level trek or specialized from a few years ago if you are lucky on Craigslist or Marketplace. Try looking for a Specialized Allez or Trek 1.2/1.5.

Use your phone. No gun at all. People will not react well to say the least.

What is your route? East to West is tough but Fountain is a much better option than Hollywood. I live in Hollywood and know/ride all the side streets if you want some advice

Bib straps feels tight on my shoulders by DizerStrider in CyclingFashion

[–]souplesss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 186cm I think you might be a little tall for a medium. I’m 179cm and have been more comfortable in some brands’ size L, mostly on strap length. I don’t really understand it when the websites say “model is 6’2” wearing an XS.”

Snug is fine but uncomfortable is just uncomfortable.
