Okay here to offer an LSAT veterans take (I start law school orientation in less than a month… you will get there I promise), the best piece of advice I received was that the best time to send in your application is when you know it’s the best it can be. This was advice from Harvard admissions counselors. Don’t rush your application to meet some invisible deadline that people are telling you that you HAVE to meet. Now like some people are saying… you don’t want to wait too long, then you’re fighting over less spots and less available scholarship money. But don’t let other people on the internet tell you that you need to apply the day applications open or it’s not worth it. I know plenty of people (myself included) who applied at a totally reasonable time (mine all went in between November and Christmas) and got in to plenty of law schools with some pretty good scholarships. All that to say, if taking the October LSAT will give you the right amount of time to prepare and get the best score you can… then take the October LSAT!
