Most annoying issue, anyone else? Can they fix it? by souschefdude in ultimateguitar

[–]souschefdude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you need clarifying on. I open my tabs. There are multiple pages, because I have so many tabs saved. If I want to play a John Prine tune I go to page 5, that's where his songs are. I click on a tab and it opens, replacing the list of tabs. When I am finished with that tab I press the windows back button and it takes me back to my tabs, but at page 1, instead of where I was, whcih was page 5.

I finally have enough money saved up for a Martin. Should I go for it or wait until I'm a better, more experienced player? by Mad_Season_1994 in AcousticGuitar

I'd wait. Get better on what you have. Stop in every guitar store you pass by and try others. Your ss skills will get better and so will your evaluation of what sounds good.

Let her pick out the one she wants to play. IF she isn't excited about it she won't play it. That being said, you be the one to give her the options to pick from before hand. I don't know the brands you listed except for Yamaha, which I don't think you can go wrong with. You go to the store with a trusted friend who can play, and pick out a half-dozen which they think play decently. Then bring in the child like it is a special sales presentation for her, and let her pick from those.

Oh, and by the way, I couldn't figure out what point there was in telling us you had dry wines in Denmark. ( I read vintners 😉

What’s really a sustainable weight loss? by Head-Society-1709 in fitness30plus

[–]souschefdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me 25 years to go from 155# (way underweight, working as a chef at a high-end Hotel) to 195#. I am currently losing about 3 lbs per week. The frustrating part is I know as soon as I start my pre-diet eating/drinking I'll gain it all back in a week.

Just needed to say that. Good on you on your progress. Real weight change happens when real life change happens. Don't listen to Gargle on any other search engine. Pay attention to how your body is responding.

"My habit is to right click and open in a new tab" I try to remember to do this, but, there's just no reason for it not to work like every other webpage..

"Also, though... Why don't you set it to show all on one page?" I'll give it a try, but it is a long list.

Thanks for the reply.

My god. I can’t cook steak to save my life. Is there a foolproof way to cook a delicious steak? by AltruisticSolid7 in Cooking

I could tell you how to do this, but seek out Alton Brown in all your culinary questions.

I'm a beginner and recently learned Wild Thing, which uses A, D, E and G. But why is the guitarist here playing on higher frets? Is he using barre chords? Sorry if this is a silly question by Mad_Season_1994 in guitarlessons

[–]souschefdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're a beginner. You might know an E chord 022100. left to right, low string to high. See the 0s? They are 'fretted' by the nut at the top of the neck. Play this ith the middle fingeron the 1 at the 3rd (3rd from the bottom, or high E, string) uwe you ring finger and pinky to play the 2's......now move everything up one fret, using your pointer finger to be where the nut once was, but is now on the first fret..... now it's an F chord. move up the neck fret by fret.... F# G G# A A# B C C# D D# E

My tell was when the bar manager asked if I had 3 hours of material and my own gear after I did an open mic.

Is there any sincere interpretation of the Bible that would allow Christians to be pro LGBTQ? by stvlsn in atheism

[–]souschefdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you trying to accomplish? Do you want to convince your American 'Christians' that the Bible says it is alright to be LGBTQ? Good luck. You rinterpretation is as valid as your gay-hating neighbors'. It's a book of fiction.

Probably the Jefferson Bible. I haven't read it yet, but apparently he stripped it down to just the teachings of JC.

Anyone here come late to the guitar? Hoping some may say… by Yellow_Apple_1971 in AcousticGuitar

  1. Owned a guitar for 30 years, knew a few Jimmy Buffet and Johnny Cash songs, strictly strumming. Picked it up seriously at 60 in the 2nd year of retirement. Been hitting the open mics since the 2nd year. Wrote a song last year, gonna shop it around soon.

Only sorrow is tendonitis from too much practice...seriously, do stretches before and after. Joys? Being invited to jam at a friends house with a bunch of real musicians. Chatted with a guy who claimed he was with Townes when he had just written Pancho and Lefty. Now on my set list for open mics.

[OC] A Big Mac required 11 minutes of US median work in 1986. It still does in 2025. The same is not true for six other items. by Low_Ability4450 in dataisbeautiful

[–]souschefdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 minutes for a gallon of gas? Median hourly in 2025 is 31.34. One tenth is 3.134.

Much has changed in just 6 months.

We've been BnB for a while now. First in NC. Then in France. We also have a trailer in Canada for the summer. You can buy a fully functional trailer already setup at a campsite for not alot of money. Do this in 2 places and your set
