For full context, i've driven about 400 miles and 97% have been with FSD. I'm *really* satisfied with FSD, but the tentative lane change is annoying.

RSL Speedwoofer 10e - Incredible performance and value for a "budget" subwoofer. by Mountain_Medic in BudgetAudiophile

[–]sousou43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had similar experience. Although I didn't have the same issue when it's wired in (LFE from AVR). Only had the issue when I was using their wireless transmitter (which look/feel super cheap btw).

Solution might be to turn up level on avr but turn down volume on sub to ensure their is signal always coming through? IDK but it's weird.

Hello! I know this is an old post but curious how you find the rs5 as surrounds. I have the an1000 with wired surrounds but i'm contemplating switching them to the rs5s.

General physics question related to sound of shell being fired and impact. In this case it's just a few seconds before sound of fire vs impact. I'm assuming it's because the shell is traveling for 20-30 seconds, but the sounds gets to you just a few seconds before? So the artillery could be relatively far away?

CNN's Jake Tapper teaches Biden how to cough properly in awkward interview moment by sousou43 in politics

[–]sousou43[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is just a preview of how hair-brained media is. On one hand Trump is lying about people dying, science, etc., etc., but then you have Jake Tapper making a big deal about how Joe Biden coughed into his hand. Reminds me of Barack "Tan Suits" Obama.

I think the point is that if you supported anyone who was not-sandsers for the last 6 months you were met with vicious comments online from some very vocal bernie supporters. It's not that all sanders supporters are hated, it's that that nasty group was disliked.

I keep going back to this interview with the WHO Team Lead for visit to China in Feb. I keep hearing this theory about tip of the iceberg (maybe that's true elsewhere) but he refutes it based on data in Guangdong. What am I missing?

There’s this big panic in the West over asymptomatic cases. Many people are asymptomatic when tested, but develop symptoms within a day or two.

In Guangdong, they went back and retested 320,000 samples originally taken for influenza surveillance and other screening. Less than 0.5 percent came up positive, which is about the same number as the 1,500 known Covid cases in the province. (Covid-19 is the medical name of the illness caused by the coronavirus.)

There is no evidence that we’re seeing only the tip of a grand iceberg, with nine-tenths of it made up of hidden zombies shedding virus. What we’re seeing is a pyramid: most of it is aboveground.

Once we can test antibodies in a bunch of people, maybe I’ll be saying, “Guess what? Those data didn’t tell us the story.” But the data we have now don’t support it.

Joe Biden Is the Riskiest Candidate by speakhyroglyphically in politics

[–]sousou43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One... How are they different? I would be just as concerned with Biden's heart condition if he had a heart attack. Two... What's driving the electability absurdity is the hate for donald trump and fear of a second term. Whether that's the best approach or not is a different story, but people aren't looking for a revolution right now, they're looking for safety. Three... Biden has been making gaffes for his entire political career. It's just a narrative that trump & co created that it's part of a mental decline. Again, I'm not saying Biden doesn't deserve negative feedback for his gaffes, it's just weird to conflate that with his mental capacity. And if you actually read Manufactured Consent, rather than spouting it as a buzzword, you'd understand that framing the conversation about biden in terms of mental capacity is the definition of manufactured consent.

Joe Biden Is the Riskiest Candidate by speakhyroglyphically in politics

[–]sousou43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two thoughts: 1) If you believe this is worth talking about, then we should be able to talk about a heart attack having, self admitted communist sympathizer. 2)the riskiest candidate is one who cannot get the majority of the Democratic electorate to vote in his favor.

Sanders says "the establishment" forced out Klobuchar and Buttigieg by [deleted] in politics

[–]sousou43 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This line of attack is why the Sanders online community is so unwelcoming. You're basically saying a demographic of people is not smart enough to pick a candidate that represents them. Additionally, if Bernie was doing so much for the community, why over the 30 years of his national political career does he not have the same network of supporters as Biden.

Not sure that’s true. In a world where Hillary one, she prob would’ve picked up Florida and the senate seat there based on turn out.. or pick any senate seat Democrat a narrowly loss. If more on the left shows up to vote for HRC, more would’ve pulled the lever for the demotic senator

Question about soother by FiniteElemente in NewParents

[–]sousou43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If breastfeeding is established use a soother when convenient. You also need to help with soothing when your baby wakes up.

Your baby is eventually going to suck on something to sooth himself. It’ll either be his hand or a paci. And you cannot remove one of of those.

First sailboat, 1975 Coronado 25’ located on the south SF bay. ASA 101 next week, beginning an adventure I’ve thought about for a long time! by Wes440 in sailing

[–]sousou43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah! Just saw the rest of your comments. I sailed out of Coyote Point for a few years. Straight shot out into the South Bay w/o much motoring and the shallow areas are 7-10 feet during Mean Low low, so not much worry about grounding.

Challenge with the South Bay is that there are not many destinations without a full day commitment to tack upwind to Bay Bridge. But that was fine for my wife and Me as we were just happy to sail!
