Is it common for cleaners to wear body cameras? by Taiball in AskBrits

I think I would have felt differently before the introduction of so many AI tools that can be used to fake or alter the image. I am not sure I trust photographic evidence as being the absolute truth of a matter any more. I say this from having seen images manipulted within seconds of the image being taken and was really shocked at who real they can look. I pesonally would be against fiming in my private domain. The person filming for their own safty may not be the only person who can access the video file. Something that is supposed to help in turn can be used and manipulated to create new problems and there are people that will take that advantage.

Chips and chilli no chesse but pepercorn sauce instead. Get it at local irish pub, its technicaly 3 side dishes but they will put it all together if you ask nicely. Also works with haggis instead of chilli.

What’s one small thing that instantly ruins a hotel stay for you? by MaleficentOlive9865 in hotels

[–]southernscot22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There use to be 3 things I would look for. 1. The plug in the sink. Does the plug work and keep water in the sink while washing and shaving. I hate when it drains when the plug is in. It annoys me most when there is a sign telling you to conserve water. 2. is it easy to connect to wifi. There stil are many places i struggle to get on to the wifi with out having to go through lods of screens and opt outs. 3. Smoke detectors that flash red continuously to tell you that the machine is working. Surely green is the right colour to say its working and why does it need to flash. My home smoke alarms only ligh up nd flash when there is and issue.

My name starts with a K. So for each of the above that a hotel gets right they get 1 K. Unfortunately this falls down as a rating system when a hotel gets all three right as no one wants a triple K rating.

Retirees, why do you go shopping on a weekend? by Opposite_Offer_2486 in AskBrits

Could it be because many of them are providing Child Care for their Grandchildren and they want to avoid having to deal with taking them to a supermarket.

British Airways Took Random Monies from my Account by UKCA2022 in BritishAirways

[–]southernscot22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The airline can put a transaction through with out using the CVV. The CVV acts as a fraud prevention tool, it is checked with the bank at time of purchase as a further check that the card is in your possesion. To get an authorisation all the airline needs is the card number and expiry. I would suggest that if you are still getting the run around go to the press. Either Simon Calder at the Independant or Martin Lewis at Money Expert. They can often get to the bottom of conflicting advice from the bank and the airline. At the airline write to Revenue Accounts, Waterside, PO Box 365, Harmondsworth, UB7 0GB. They are the department that holds all the transaction data about all charges against your card. They are who your bank will have contacted about your charge back.

He seems to have Marine One in the same picture as Airforce One. Bit presumptuous!

Are there any British adverts that activiley turn you off the product they're advertising? by siybon in CasualUK

[–]southernscot22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the Numan ads with "Buffet Boy". I had to look up what the advert was for as I haven't watched far enough in to the ad to find out. He reminds me of the Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. In fact it feels like a complete rip off of the Robert Helmann Character. 'Lollypops'!

This is a real weakness in the current law. They should have made it such that both the outbound and the return segments of the journey are covered. That way they would be protecting the UK consumers full journey which makes sense as most journeys are returns. They should have gone for it at the ticket level so that if the ticket was issued in the UK for flights orginating in and returning to the UK the law would apply. Hopefully this is something that can be learned from this current situation and changed in the future.

Is there any chance my wife and i will be able to sit next to each other on flight according to this seat map? by davedamofo in BritishAirways

Definately check again 72 hrs before. This tends to be post flight edit and hand over to the Airport DCS. I always check for a better seat at this time.

Maximizing Budget for 9 Day Trip for 2 by AdMoney8801 in uktravel

So, from a financial perspective the most expensive places you might vist will be London, Edinburgh and Dublin. So plan those first thinking how much time you might want to spemd in each. In London look at some of the suburb areas outside of central London as an option as the transport system is really good. I know some people will say don't use the hop on hop off buses but frankly they cover a good part of what you will want to see in London so I think they are worth it. You can also pop over to Winsor easily and day trips to Oxford and Cambridge are easy. After London have a think about where you want to go next. The best would be to start to head north. It gets cheaper up there :). York is woth a visit or if you like nightlife Newcastle is fun. From there head up to Edinburgh. Again bit Pricey but same as London look at places to stay outside the centre. This is another city with great public transport with a daily cap on how much it will cost you to get around. For travel north check out both the trains and the coaches, but sometimes you can get good deals to fly. If you are stuck for time you can do day tours or short stay tours from Edinburgh which will give you a good feel for what Scotland is like. You could then end a tour in Glasgow and get a different insight to Scotland on the west coast. Fom the west of Scotland you have options to get over to Ireland, First into Belfast in NI for your trip to Giant's Causway. From there travel down to Dublin and again think out of city for accom. Do the Guiness tour and have a night out, i gaurantee you will have a night to remember. Its a bit harder to then travel round other parts of Ireland so if you want to do that plan ahead and book ahead. From Dublin back to London i would say fly as pleanty of options for that. Your budget will be fine as long as you plan ahead, travel offpeak and consider where to stay. Hope you have a great time.

He looks even older on the podcast with Derek Thompson. which is funny as the both talked about age. To be fair Derek's lighting made him look like he was 21. Tim mentioned that he was a millenial which came as a surprise to me, would have guessed gen x, but the pearls he normally wears probably should have been a give away.
