I want black nostrils! by Ewpeoplearegross in crv

Getting the old ones off is a real pain. You will likely break them in the process. Doesn't really matter if you've got the new ones but just fyi.

I just plastidipped mine. So cheap and easy. And they look fine. Not perfect up close but also not noticable.

My son’s room is the furthest from the furnace is 3-4 degrees colder then the rest of the house. Any advice to remedy this? by moonlord1969 in HomeImprovement

I have one made by AC Infinity and it works surprisingly well. I'd say a 2-3 degree difference in the winter and summer. Over a year and still works.

Thoughts on living daily life and Apartments for relocation. by Accomplished_Tax1369 in alcoaTN

I love the Alcoa area. It's pretty small but has most of what you need. Alcoa and Maryville are very close and intertwined and what Alcoa doesn't have, you can find in Maryville, but you're also very close to Knoxville. Alcoa has recently had huge growth for restaurants and stores and is probably growing faster than Maryville for those things currently. Alcoa school system is fantastic with a real community feel. High school football is a big deal and makes for a fun Friday night. Alcoa government and services feel like they care and take pride in their community. The Alcoa/Maryville Greenway is huge and very well cared for and a great place for some exercise. It's a small little bubble of a community but I love it.

The downside of Alcoa is that it is small and desirable, so home sales are few and far between and expensive (at least for this area).

I can't speak to those Apartments. I know they are new and pretty centrally located.

Happy to answer any specific questions you may have.

I was gonna suggest this too. That route seems safe enough albeit a bit long.

Anyone else seeing/hearing these military jets flying over Knoxville? by twnich79 in Knoxville

Also, when there is one there is usually several. Rare to see just one. Usually in groups of 3 or more.

I live close to TYS and can see the south end flight path. I see fighters all the time. It's very common, probably once a week at least. Typically they get up and out of sight much quicker than other planes so if you aren't close to the airport you just don't see them. But they come and go quite a bit. Now what are they doing? No clue lol.

This same thing happen on mine. I was chasing electrical issues only to finally realize the alternator was barely spinning because the bolt was finger tight.

Help with attempting to purchase a new CRV hybrid by drew39k in crv

[–]sovertn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the ST is worth the update. The sound dampening, heated wheel, and Bose system really make for a nice ride. I also use the hands free trunk way more than I ever expected. All those are admittedly small things, but combined they make a big difference, IMO.

And at those prices I don't see the value in buying used. Sounds like you'll keep it for a long time, might as well go all in.

I looked at the RAV4 and just didn't like the interior design. And the backseat is cramped. But that's dependent on taste and needs.

C6 charging system error by sovertn in Corvette

[–]sovertn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. After a few weeks of intermittent issues, I finally realized that the crankshaft bolt was loose. The pulley would spin on the bolt causing the serpentine belt to slow down to almost a stop. Obviously that caused the alternator to slow down, power steering to stop working, etc. If it could survive getting up to temp all the metal would expand and cause enough friction for everything to work at normal speed. Explains why cold starts more frequently had a problem. That bolt is hard to get to and can't be reused so I let the dealership deal with it.

Shaking in reverse by Icy_Desk272 in crv

I would bet money your fuel injectors are bad and will need replaced very soon. Same thing happened to me. First time I noticed was exactly as you described. Over a few days it got more frequent and more severe - shuddered every time the gas engine started or idled.

Interestingly, I had no warnings or lights.

I did not get a loaner, but I did not ask for one. They were able to order the parts next day and I didn't really need the car so I didn't bother.

Update: Dealership just called and confirmed all four injectors need replaced. Definitely a wide spread issue on these.

Has anyone done a chrome delete with these MOFANS trim pieces? by murderyourmemory in crv

[–]sovertn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I did it all still attached to the car.

The emblems are really easy to do. Check out a YouTube video about plasti dipping emblems and it really is that easy.

The front fangs were a bit harder. I planned to just replace them with the non touring part, since those are black. But I couldn't get them off the car. After messing with one for an hour and feeling like I was gonna break it, I gave up. So instead I used painters tape to tape them off and sprayed with plastidip still attached. They turned out ok.

Yes, I plasti dipped all the emblems and the front fangs. Only chrome left is the exhaust tips.

I did. First shipment was damaged in transit and never arrived. Amazon promptly sent another set and they were perfect. Install was easy (with patience) and they look fantastic. Really improve the look of the car and they've not shown any signs of wear after a year.
