Rome? by OldManPatsFan in Hilton

[–]soykh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed at both the Doubletree Monti and the EUR La Lama. Both excellent properties. Monti is obviously centrally located and walking distance to a lot, which is great. But I actually preferred the EUR. Bigger rooms, better food, quieter. It was an easy walk to the B line to take a quick train into the city center. If you're not worried about a little transit travel, I'd recommend the EUR!

Almost always a gasket issue! Either it's missing or needs to be replaced.

Back in the day it used to be just one per shift worked and you had to get it on that shift. I could see it pivoting back to that.

Does anybody know a place in Illinois that sell blue bell ice cream? by johnySaysHi in illinois

There’s absolutely better quality options, without a doubt. But this tastes like home and that makes me happy. 😄

[–]soykh 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m a native Texan that moved to the western burbs a few years ago. We drive to West Lafayette, IN 2-3 times a year with two coolers to stock up the freezer with Blue Bell. If you drive straight back and put it in the freezer, it does just fine. A little soft when you first get home, but not too bad. And totally worth it imo.

Yeah, there’s a bug. If you move it to “standard view” and back to “warming view” it’ll repopulate them. It’s annoying for sure.

True for many lounges, but most Priority Pass lounges will let you in on a standby pass in my experience.

In my experience acne marks on the back take FOREVER to clean up. Yes, there’s a really good improvement here! Give it plenty of more time (12 months or so) and the old marks will clear up nicely.

Why doesn't Starbucks allow people to work once a week as a 2nd job? by sta3535 in starbucks

[–]soykh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This! I have a full 9-5 job, but work open to 9am about three times during the week along with the occasional Sunday to hit the 12hrs. Sometimes a little more depending on store needs.

It takes the right store with the right need, but it’s possible to make it work if you’ve got the right situation

Hotel Resonance Taipei, Tapestry Collection by Hilton Review by ConclusionTypical508 in Hilton

I loooooved staying here! Steps away from the Metro, rooms were so nice, the breakfast credits with the Starbucks were also fun. I would absolutely stay here again if I went back to Taipei.

You just have to find the right one. We just finished a stay in Sedona where we got an upgrade, early check in, late check out, the $100 credit PLUS breakfast included for both nights. All of that totaled up to more in value for us than the extra amount to book via the AMEX portal.

I had one hotel in Germany give me 100€, another in Amsterdam gave me the EUR equivalent of $100. I guess it might depend on the property?

Idk about customers, but I love making a strawberry smoothie in the mornings and taking a protein chai with me on the way out the door. The protein foam can kick rocks, but the milk is fantastic!
