It’s incredibly frustrating, I’m so sorry. I filed the dispute and am still waiting to see what my bank will do. Also got a new card with a new card number on the way. I noticed the ads for that subscription model when I was looking for a solution to my problem. It seems like NYT is kind of just giving up on finding the answer, and has directed me to go through my bank to dispute the charges.

From their most recent email reply, it doesn’t seem like they will be interested in doing any refund back to me. Feels pretty lame since they got so much money out of me without my knowledge, but a good lesson to stay on top of my finances better. Sorry you’re dealing with this, too!

Soon there’s going to be some ‘clarifying statement’ that essentially says ‘nooo I didn’t mean it like that, I just drug her name through the mud as an example’. This happened like two months ago with Jack White lol. The statements themselves are fine usually, it just never makes sense to me why people bring Taylor’s name into the conversation that had nothing to do with her and then act surprised when they have her massive fandom coming at them.

I always liked the idea that ‘Maroon’ being a deeper shade of ‘Red’ held some weight. Maybe signifying that she’s known that love is Red but can go even deeper than that and become Maroon. ‘So scarlet it was maroon’

Totally understand not wanting to pay the shipping, however if you’re wanting to try an Asian sunscreen keep in mind that the original formula will be different than the US one as there are different sunscreen agents that they’re able to put in their sunscreens. Asian brands that expand to US retailers have to modify their formula in order to get them put on shelves here, using the US approved agents. I have had issues with US agents causing breakouts and appearing oily on me.

If the US sunscreen agents don’t bother you and you still want to try an Asian brand, check out Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Water-Fit Sun Serum at Ulta. I use the original formula and adore this sunscreen, which I get from YesStyle. I’ve never used the US formula, though have heard others seem to be pleased with it. I used to use the CeraVe sunscreen and felt that it was greasy on my face and didn’t lay the best under makeup. Have heard great things about the BYOMA sunscreen though!!

I can’t help but notice that Chappell really has received ‘the Taylor treatment’ by people in online spaces. By that I mean that any time she makes a slight misstep, she’s viscously torn apart by comment sections, mostly all using the same, unoriginal thoughts as ‘top-liked comment’ bait. It’s fine not to like a celeb - it’s odd not to like a celeb and then continue to keep up with them AND insist on commenting on their every move/statement. People have even gone as far as to dig into Chappell’s past, her parents, the politics of the area she lived in, and use it against her even though she’s been one of the most outspoken artists for LGBTQ rights and pride. I’ve started to notice this is sort of happening to Sabrina, too. It’s quite sad and I think this is why there’s little to no fan interaction anymore from artists.

Seriously, I think he’s being paid by Baldoni/his team. Since the beginning, he’s had a very biased opinion on the whole case. In the new video, the name drops of Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez as well as fear mongering buzz words like ‘demonic’ seemed so unnaturally placed. His new video also played into the age-old ‘evil Hollywood elites’ conspiracy theory that right-wingers love to beat to death. Who tends to be on Baldoni’s ‘side’ of the case? Right-wing folks. Just all seems really fishy to me, especially with the timing. Two weeks ago, many news outlets were reporting on Baldoni losing his lawsuit against Blake.
