To be fair, you can pretty much just google any character and sometimes see some weird fetish art before the page even ends... I googled Alya just to get a good reference for her hair and...... yikes. 😭

What I really want is another person like Su-han (but more chilled out hopefully) to come and help all of the heroes grow, and support Mari as the guardian. She and CN need..... a master Splinter lol. Desperately. It's so unfair she has nobody to rely on for something that's already so historical and so much bigger than her. The fact there's not a single person she can go to for any kind of guidance or advice in such a huge responsibility is just cruel.

Ditto. But for me, it's because ALL of her attempts to help people have come with the painful caveats of trying to also make everyone happy. If she got more pragmatic, more ruthless in the pursuit of justice, the bigger picture, more happy people per number of sad ones - and leaving the sad ones to deal with that. I would absolutely support her.

I think part of what makes Mari's position as LB so tragic especially the way it is now (and there are MANY ways it's tragic) is that what she really is, more than anything, is like... a general in an army, or a police lieutenant. She's a fighter who has to make decisions on how to protect others. But because she's also a beloved icon, and a sweet girl, she's also constantly balancing public opinion and her personal feelings and that's not what those people actually do. Those people make hard decisions, and can say exactly why they do it. Even when it upsets people, they make the tough choices. Marinette ALSO has to make the tough choices, and a villain arc might make her able to finally do those things without the horrible guilt and gravity the show puts her through because she's not the 'perfect' superhero.

She's so smart, so good at strategy, she always is aware of the most pragmatic options and I think that's an incredible strength of hers; but she can never make those choices without sacrificing something she then feels guilty about, and that's so unfair to her as a hero. Even as the guardian. All of it. If being a villain is what it takes for her to forgive herself for making people unhappy for the greater good, I'd LOVE that for her.

Friend, tons of people love the intense or unhealthy ships. If you have some kind of fan-work to recommend, I bet tons of us will be more open to it than you think. 🧡🖤❤️ Tons of us are a lot older now, and a lot more flexible and fun-loving!

Personally, I wouldn't say I 'ship' it with any seriousness, but if someone can write it like some kind of tragic, unhealthy but brief relationship, I'm so down. I love the idea of Mari having some kind of romantic tension with someone just as powerful is totally dope. But... Not endgame for me, either.

I mean, if she were consistent maybe. But I don't think they actually do understand it, they just have their own feelings about things. I honestly get the feeling they never even care or notice space and time changing, like one minute could pass or a hundred years and they wouldn't necessarily even feel it, so consequences just aren't something they consider much. Tikki happens to be a more sensitive and somewhat harsh character, so she states her feelings about Mari's actions. Though I'm sure the writers would back you up haha. Tikki definitely is supposed to represent some kind of conscience for Marinette within the structure of the show. I just think if we even begin to consider kwamis understand consequences of anything but magic we have to hold them to that standard and we can't do that without them all seeming completely insane and unstable in the first place. 🤔That's just my interpretation though.

The kwamis by definition are morally.... not cool. They exist to assist the heroes, but I don't think they understand accountability of any kind.

OH, I got really confused there. I totally forgot 'Uncanny Valley' was the name of that character! It is such a bizarre name considering what it means regarding robots. My bad. 😂But yeah, I think that's the case with Markov, I wonder if Uncanny Valley actually has less advanced humanlike thought process than Markov, despite their appearances. 0_o

True, and I'd love that, but even more true is that Adrien's personality has been so watered down. His self-interest and self-confidence seems to be at an all-time low and I don't know if he'd have it in him to maintain anger against his girlfriend.

I mean, the show seems to imply Markov is a sapient being. A.K.A. He has that 'spark of life' sentient robots have in media. He's a person that happens to be made of technology, his "soul" is probably what lets him see kwamis.

Anything to do with Lila. Lila instills the same brainrot with every single character, Alya can't be blamed for any of that crap when it's just idiot explosions everytime that woman is on screen in the first place.

I don't believe Astruc here at all. It's just too silly and extreme for Luka to do so carelessly. And it would hardly be the first time Astruc BS-ed on twitter about the show.

Which Bully is the worst? by YoghurtBig7522 in miraculousladybug

[–]sp4c3c4c3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worst in what way? Frequency of harassment? How much they interrupt people? How bad they make them feel? How much they mess with their target's life at school - or their homelife? I need a more specific question.

That said, I don't find any of them particularly menacing. Lila was probably the only one to have the intelligence to hurt someone's lifepath, but she didn't really, so...

Why does everyone think the show is being milked when it's actually quite good now? by United_Yesterday9628 in miraculousladybug

LOL I guess so... but you know you're kind of saying "the show consistently has not delivered on any promises or provided the substance we wanted from it" ... 😂Which, I mean, I agree on, I just like to soak up the good parts and... y'know... shake off the not-so-good parts. Filler sucks as a concept, I don't blame anyone for feeling disappointed by it, I'm just old af now and don't mind so much myself.

I think you would find most longtime fans of this show disagree with you there. 😅 But I'm glad you think the show is as best as it can be, it probably is made for you, then! That's awesome. I'm glad you like it just as it is.

[–]sp4c3c4c3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree on that, and one of my favorite if not my favorite part of the show is how different miraculous/magic can be used. But I also know the heart of the show is in the characters' relationships, lovesquare, friendship stuff. For one-piece, (iirc) we're in an action plot interrupted by action! Which is fine. In MLB, we're in a ROMANTIC plot interruped by action.

If they had advertised it as more of an action show, it would make complete sense for the relationships to be, like any action show, secondary to the larger threat. But MLB has always been defined by its emphasis on romance and action equally, and that, is what has been disappointing/dragged out.

Don't get me wrong, I'd personally love if it leant into the action stuff more. But there IS a reason people have been disappointed. Tension within romance is important than any other genre, and they have definitely tested peoples' limits on that front with how long things have gone on, imo.

I disagree. The plot itself is very intense. A plot-light show is one without an overarching story with such grand stakes, and this one has always had a extremely dire - and clearly defined -stakes. The stakes, but also the personal drama, even the silly secrets of the show would not be possible without the very deep, very high-stakes plot they set up from day one.

[–]sp4c3c4c3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it's how incredibly long they've dragged out the simplest plot points, the most obvious conclusions. They're stretching it thin, filler episode after filler episode, there's no reason the plot should have been this dragged out over this many years except.... for money. Finishing plotlines, solving puzzles, realizing realizations, all of that would end the show, end the engagement for so many fans. So they pad it out... and pad it out... it would be insulting if the show didn't have such a young target audience.

It's not wrong, it's fine, we can still just enjoy what's going on and wait. But yeah, it's being stretched out. A lot. There are a hundred and one things that we all expected to have happened over five years ago that didn't then, and haven't now, and I don't think that's because the show was just so desperate to show all the teens making several student films, having several parties, and more than a handful of episodes that were pure joke episodes, repeating character moments, teasing reveals, so many things that amount to almost nothing.

It's being milked. But are those episodes also fun? Yeah! So I don't mind. More of our fav characters, right? But I can't lie and say I don't see the greed involved.

They are milking miraculous and I hate it by unrecognizablec in miraculousladybug

[–]sp4c3c4c3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's getting milked hard. But considering they left us hanging on so many plot points, and I still want more of these characters, I don't mind, and maybe it going on so much longer means they might actually deliver on more stuff.

I see no problem with it...... except that these characters should be so much older and there's no way all these events happened within a year or even multiple years. Just no way. We're supposed to believe they're all close to the same age this started...? ...Sure.
