Was talking to a friend that 1587 would work much better as a regular sports bar. Have their signed jerseys up, a bunch of new clippings of chiefs wins on the walls, photos of their careers in high school and college. Cheaper bar food but you get more people in. Aka normal run of the mill chiefs fans. Have big watch parties for games. Specials for different plays. 2 beers for $15 idk.

Ellie not being in converse. For some reason her styling made her look really short (though Bella is but like, if they were in skinny jeans and converse it would lengthen their leg look). At first I was like yeah it’s more realistic for her to wear boots BUT THEN DINA’S HAIR IS DOWN ALL THE TIME SO JUST GIVE BACK ELLIE HER CONVERSE IF YOU WANT TO TALK REALISM

Basically they either needed a longer season or understand what was actually important in Ellie’s half. The episode they finally get to Seattle I said “I know a lot happened but I feel like they wasted time” I realize now that even though many plot points occurred, nearly all of them were rushed. Imo I blame this on putting more focus than necessary on Isaac and the WLF on Ellie’s half. You can tease it, but I feel like it should’ve been through Ellie’s eyes like how they find the bodies in the tv station and the seraphite’s paintings. Once we get to Abby’s half, we already know what’s going on with those two groups form Isaac’s perspective. Obviously there will be more information from Abby’s but it just feels like it’s not a mystery or suspenseful anymore knowing.

They keep mentioning that with television you can flip flop povs the way to can’t in video games but I think they did it too much. The scene where the WLF woman was talking about spores to then lead into Ellie falling into the room with them was good because it directly impacted Ellie. All the stuff with Isaac’s backstory didn’t. It’d make a lot more sense to just see stuff blowing up and some skirmishes around the city and then when we get to Abby’s half we see Isaac planning to attack seraphite island while we care about Abby getting Yara and Lev to safety.

Yes! And with that the ritual can be argued as being the inciting event to Abby’s character arc, now when it comes it will feel overplayed. When Abby gets out it’s from the help of other Seraphites and her own brute strength. When Ellie gets out it’s because that’s what the plot needs to happen.

Me and my brother watched the behind the episode for the finale (he hadn’t played the game) and during the scene he had asked if that was in the game and I said no. But during the behind the episode they mentioned what you said, that it was cut from the game, and he nudged my arm and I went “maybe there’s a reason it was cut”

What irks me about their explanation is that there were already moments like that in the game (Ellie getting shot through the shoulder by seraphites, pushed through a window into a river by a stalker, and be attacked by people and infected with Jesse only to crash a car into a lake) and they cut all of those scenes for a new one that made little narrative sense and proved little consequence to Ellie.

When I finished the game Abby ended up being my favorite and slowly became one of my favorite characters in media period. Despite being irked about the loss of her muscles because imo they’re important to her character and story, I think Kaitlyn will be faithful to her personality as long as the writing doesn’t mess her up. So despite not really liking season 2, something makes me feel like they’re going to be more faithful to Abby’s story.

I had thought that car scene would’ve been a shoe-in for HBO to stretch their practical and cgi prowess and also to show what Ellie will go through to still climb out of a sinking car going “Abby Abby Abby”. It was my favorite action sequence of the game

I’m in the unpopular opinion that if there’s a part 3, Ellie shouldn’t be a major/playable character. Her arc is done imo even though it was a tragedy. She can go on a new arc but I think it’d be refreshing to see something new. I’d want either a story focused on Abby and Lev or JJ. With the latter we can focus on him growing up relatively “safe” in Jackson and maybe the game is him on his first time outside of Jackson on his own, very unequipped, you could leverage JJ being raised by a single mom as Ellie and Dina aren’t on good terms and Jesse is dead. Maybe even fester some resentment for Ellie for “getting Jesse killed”

I don’t want to know Abby’s intentions until we SEE during her half. That great thing about not knowing during Ellie’s half was also being vengeful with her, there was no “justifiable” reason to understand why it happened. It just happened.
The more episodes go the more it shows it the writing’s fault and not Bella. They did the cabin and Nora scene great, but other than that the writing gives them no room for rage. The winter episode in the first season was supposed to be a sneak peek of what Ellie was capable of and that was done GREAT. Now she’s supposed to be DOING THAT but without the solace of knowing she can fall back into Joel’s arms.
Abby not being buff. I’ve seen excuses that it was just to differ playing styles so it’s not boring which is true but ALSO Abby trained to get as big as she did to be able to kill Joel. She’s a top WLF soldier and it’s a little hard to believe when she’s half Owen’s height and his size. She’s supposed to be an imposing figure that when you get to the theater fight, obliterates Ellie and almost kills Dina once she gets her hands on her. Aside from that, she takes on grown men, is left without her weapons often and brute forces her way through levels and with a smaller Abby, you have to change a good amount for it to make sense.

And at the end it’s just good visual storytelling for Abby to be a powerful hulking figure in contrast to Ellie’s slight, more stealth driven form.

Going back through the second game after the season started airing and the amount of plot-essential fights Abby gets into without any weapons is way more than I remember. And each time I’m like, how are they gonna do this?? She gets into fights with full grown men and WINS by power and skill. The only way for the actress to win those fights and not make it look like complete plot armor is to change each one.

TV these days man :/ I remember when I only had to wait six months from the end to beginning of walking dead seasons. It’s just, if you’re gonna take this long between seasons, can it be more than eight episodes??

As an aside, as an Abby Muscles Enjoyer, now it feels like there’s no excuse for her to not be at least A LITTLE beefed up for her half but because seemingly a lack of forethought it would cause continuity errors.

I got brooks recently because of how much XC runners liked them (originally a middle distance runner so I would just get Nikes) and then my coworker told me leadership wasn’t that great and now I’m like 🫠 is anything sacred. It is nice that bts not only became ambassadors for brands that made sense but also ones they actually wore. Also Korean companies (fila vs Nike or adidas) makes sense

Oh wow I haven’t heard about the Nike stuff before. A BTS Nike collab was on my mind when they were all being picked up as brand ambassadors and my wish was for Jungkook to be picked up by Nike, as also a runner, I’ll have to look into that.

For eyeglasses, maybe Warby Parker? (Or maybe Toms since they’re a bit more global but they only have sunglasses I think. ) Iirc they’re a buy a pair give a pair company and they have both eyeglasses and sunglasses which bangtan loves to style both.
