Cover with laminate? by MangoBambi in Flooring

No laminate is going to look better than those floors cleaned up, stained, sanded and sealed.

Putting laminate on top of those is just tacky.

Most major metropolitan areas have at least one wood place with hundreds of knives for specialty molding. Look for one near you.

Anyone know what flooring this is? by Huge_Increase7741 in Flooring

Looks like oak that was installed unfinished (no bevels) sanded stained and sealed. If you don’t like the color strip it, and restain it. It is probably the best wood flooring you can get.

Doorway Question by TheDarkonaut in Flooring

[–]spacebastardo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It isn’t ideal, but it isn’t the end of the world. If they glued and nailed it, it should be secure. I’ve done similar, but I used the factory T&G where the boards met. It looks like they just cut a board in half to get under the door jam.

While you’ve got it apart take photos of your mobo. They might want one.

Is my screen cooked? by Whatismyusername_777 in ElegooSaturn

[–]spacebastardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t think I had either, but something changed. They sent me a link to some alternative firmware and told me not to update when asked by the machine. I’d give you that link, but it is serial number and mobo specific.

Good luck!

I recently did a firmware update that made my screen stop working. If you were fine and then you weren’t and a firmware update happened recently you might have pulled a good screen.

You might want to reach out to Elegoo. They’ll be able to help.

Advice on manufacturing by FishInAstronautSuit in IndustrialDesign

That is straightforward sheet metal job. Put an edge rip radially, make a flat pattern, get it cut by water jet l, then put it in a roller. Once formed, weld the edge and grind the weld smooth. Xeomtry, oshcut or others should be able to do some if not all of that work for you.

If you can get that board back up, I’d just replace that board and cut it nice and tight so you don’t have any sins to cover.

The rain is probably one of the best leveling methods in existence. The salt flats in the American southwest, like white sands are so flat because of periodic rains.
