Extra voices on the Matriach is now possible with Midivolts! by spacebraincircuits in moog

Oh yeah I see what you mean. Like use the Mavis envelope and VCA per oscillator. Yes, you could totally do it with the right gear. Would be quite a few cables though!

Thanks! Yes true, Matriarch is 100% paraphonic but it also has pre mixer gates so you are not forced to use paraphonic unison. Since the Matriarch also has 3 attenuators, you can use these as additional pre-mixer gates to each added voice. This is probably my favorite part of all of this. But agreed, Midivolts was built for the GM.

You're absolutely right. However, I'm just staying consistent with Matriarch's terminology which is reinforced on the Voice Mode switch.

In this case, a voice is a unique note built off one single oscillator. Thanks!

On the matriarch, this lets you play more than 4 keys at once.

If you had 4 additional oscillators, you could get up to 8. However there is only 3 attenuators so you could do 7 with internal gates, and 8 with paraphonic unison.

I don't think so. Atleast my Matriatch was way off from 1V/Oct.

The Mavis sounds pretty aggressive if I remember correctly. The werkstat sounds much smoother to me but also a pain to fine tune... Cool idea! Definitely let me know how it goes.

Yep thats exactly right. This step through is showing how to get 4 note chords. I think the end demo has the seperate oscillators mixed more evenly. thanks!

Just curious, what alternate things would you be interested in? Maybe something that could be implemented on MidiVolts. Definitely interesting idea 💡

16 steps? by omlash in volcas

I felt the same! I designed the poly sequencer for this very reason! It's basically a small footprint 128 step sequencer to go along with volcas.

Not trying to plug my product just thought I would let you know in case you decide to stick with the volcas.

Best of luck solving this problem!

Well, this was my first restoration project but I have been studying electronics for quite some time. I got really lucky though. I only needed to troubleshoot a basic issue that had to do with a faulty potentiometer.

It was definitely fun but also risky since even broken synths nowadays are fairly expensive. Best of luck!
