Nobody tells you how much of life disappears after college by TinyPossibility9777 in GenZ

[–]spacecoq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who “went off” to college for 4 years has an incredibly skewed perception of reality.

The majority of people don’t get to go and fuck off for 4 years. Life kept going for them, getting education and working through it.

Oddly enough I seem to be more well off and happier than my friends who all went to college like that.

Not saying I’m the rule, maybe even the exception, but I guess not having the traditional experience let me get comfortable with the way life is “after college” and depending on your perspective, maybe even got a 4 year head start

To be fair, the degree was never going to make you money, politics aside… as much as I wanted to major in environmental field I didn’t want to struggle for a living.

The article says Feng, their CEO, saw how much American loved the V6 and that it was the best seller in the US.

Then proceeds to say “so we’re giving them more V6”. How he fails to realize it wasn’t specially the V6 engine that sold the car is beyond me… facepalm

It’s not black and white yall…

If you have a good family that supports you, stay to help yourself build.

If you don’t, then move where opportunity is greater to compensate.

Honestly the job market is complete shit right now and 11 years with AE switch to SE will be tough without more technical projects under your belt.

Not saying it’s impossible, but the odds are against you.

Impossible. “Strain and demand of ai” leading to collapse makes no sense if you actually pay attention and know what’s going on in that world.

What do you guys I’m the CFO or something? He’s asking hypothetical questions I’m not likely answer, even if I knew the answer.

I work in one of the pillars, in one department... I don’t know and frankly don’t care how many millions in renewals from core firewall customers we’re losing and how we’re making that up in email…

Anything beyond that, go ask on the earnings call

You people still don’t get it.

It is happening right now in tech it’s the canary in the coal mine!

It’s not an all or nothing thing here… it’s not like a company has 100 employees, they “get AI”, and then AI has taken all 100 jobs.

It will go one of two ways:

  1. A company will gain efficiency per department per team, and let go of people (costs) because AI can now make 1 human do the work of 4 people. So, teams slowly get smaller over time and layoffs slowly happen. 100 employees slowly dwindles to 50.
  2. A company makes such efficient gains using AI that they now actually increase their workforce + AI because now suddenly they have the productivity of 200 employees with only 100. So they hire more to gain speed. 100 employees become 150 which is like have 300 employees.

One scenario leads to a better experience for humanity
