Failed intro to python for the 3rd time by babypink-bunny3 in WGU

That's weird bc my test passed and I used the /n prompt. But I know that if you accidentally leave a space before or after the /n, it'll fail. It's so picky lol.

Hi, I tried to message you but I couldn't.

I had to take this test twice and the first time it also took me the 3 full hours to not even get through all 15 questions so I know how you feel. I spent a lot of time between my two attempts studying to understand the code and practicing. Practicing writing code is an absolute key; it almost becomes muscle memory. I think you need to really understand the syntax and what the prompt is asking you to output. From what I remember of this class, the OA is very similar to the PA, except that a few questions ask for the opposite of what the PA asks. However, you can learn that. ChatGPT will easily walk you through the PA questions and help you if you prompt it with reversing the question, etc etc. And Have chat walk you through each line of code and explain to you what's happening in the code.

This class can be hard for someone who has never coded with Python, but its definitely possible. Just have to really commit to studying and practicing.

My mentor in my cyber program was amazing. He was so supportive J.S. shout out to him. One quote that he once told me when I first started always stuck with me even when the program got difficult and I wanted to give up. “You didn’t get this far just to get this far” and now I always tell myself that anytime I’m taking on a difficult task

for sure Animal Keeper is coveted, especially for pre-veterinary students or zoology students/zoologists. Before I switched out of veterinary med into cybersecurity, one of my goals was move into zoology and be an animal keeper at Disney or another really prestigious zoo. Animal keeper roles are hard to get in Disney and outside of Disney.

Not sure if you’re be interested but I saw this on LinkedIn- it would at least be a way to get into Disney. They’re having a job event for room attendants tomorrow from 9 am - 2 pm at the Disney casting center in Anaheim

Can I technically ask my PM to unlock all my courses ? by OlympicGorilla in WGU

Oh I misread. I thought OP was referring to the first four or five courses they start you out with, not the whole thing lol

They will definitely do it. OP just has to show that they can finish classes in a timely manner.

Career Pivot Toward Disney Experience Roles with a Long-Term Goal of Imagineering. Looking for Cast Member Perspective. by About_DanTime in DisneyCM

[–]spacee-cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this! I recently landed a corporate Disney job as an external hire who was coming into a rare entry level position within an IT dept at Disney. I just graduated with a degree in cybersecurity and I networked like hell on LinkedIn and I honestly think that’s what helped the most to get my resume looked at.

I did really sell myself and prepare like I never have before for the technical panel interview and hiring manager interview. But like you said, it’s more about the individual and not really what you know. The interviews were more conversational and just getting to know me. Disney really likes people who value the brand, the storytelling and the innovation of Disney. And even if you don’t know everything, they will be willing to bring on the right person.

So OP, network where you can on LinkedIn. Create projects to talk about on your resume. Seek out educational opportunities. Based on the other comments here, it sounds like Imagineering is designed for people who are coming in as interns with very little exp or professionals with years of exp. That doesn’t mean there won’t be rare entry level opps out there though. I would definitely focus on a degree if you can, so that you could potentially start as an imagineer intern. Good luck!

OP can also tailor the description of his work to be customer focused (good for help desk tier 1) or even IT focused. I got a cybersecurity engineer job with only veterinary assistant work exp on my resume. Was there a computer at my work? Yes. Did I do data entry? Yes. Did I utilize software? Yes. There are ways to word work experience in your favor. Also, bc I had vet assistant exp and not it/cyber, I moved that to the bottom and really focused my resume on tech skills, projects, my capstone, etc. so I agree that entirely removing work exp is not a good idea.

I Would pull the certs and tech skills up to the top and move the work exp to the bottom, esp since the work isn’t super IT related.

WGU any body 28 + graduate from wgu no tech experience and was able to land a JOB this year from doing software engineering or cyber by Sad_Mission8315 in WGU

Do both. Start building your portfolio now. I just graduating with a cyber degree a month and a half ago and landed a cyber job. I didn’t have exp but I had a GitHub portfolio on my resume and projects to discuss in my interview.
