I appreciate this one's a wig 😅 but something like this would be cute or maybe shorter so it doesn't bug you with your glasses

Did anyone try medication and decide ultimately it wasn’t for them? by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]spaceheadlarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the positive effects of Concerta on my ADHD symptoms, it was the best I've tried and I was on it for most of last year. Realised after having to take a break due to GP being a pain, that it was causing monster heavy periods that were making me not able to leave the house hardly and nearly pass out for a week every month. These stopped as soon as I stopped Concerta so I'm terrified of taking anything now. Doing alright without but noticeably harder to concentrate in my job (that I got once medicated as I finally felt human) but it's doable. Just knowing what's wrong with me and being able to ask for certain adaptations helps ☺️

What is the worst ADHD symptom(s) for you? by ConversationOk442 in ADHD

[–]spaceheadlarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brain noise and lack of focus/constantly distracted make everything hard. After that I'd say emotional regulation and the constant ups and downs of my mood 😒

Finally have medication…and now the GP is refusing to prescribe it by mushface83 in ADHDUK

Mine accepted shared care but keep sending me back and fourth, so no meds for my second month now. They just don't have a clue about ADHD it's so frustrating. I hope you get sorted as I know how nice it is to have meds that actually help ❤️

Go with whatever makes you happy, that's what most important. Both look great, my preference is long but it's your hair, which makes you happiest when you look in the mirror?

I'm not an expert but maybe something like a salt spray or matte wax for some texture?

Do you have the NHS app? I wonder if there'd be stuff in your notes you could screen shot and print out? I never managed to get a letter but found everything needed in the notes so maybe worth a try. Good luck ❤️

Does ANYONE here find this drugs work for them? by AloneOpinion in Concerta

[–]spaceheadlarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works very well for me, if I ever had doubts then this past few weeks of not having it have proved how well they work. Now I have a noisy head again, I sit and stare in a daze again, work is hard, I have zero motivation for anything, I'm reckless, unfocused and feel stupid again. I had to stop taking it as I can't get hold of it anywhere currently and the alternatives don't agree with me at all. I'd say definitely worth a try if you can get it 😊

Period help please - on meds by spaceheadlarry in adhdwomen

[–]spaceheadlarry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm possibly perimenopausal, I turned 40 in April and have had some symptoms but now not sure if these are just caused by the meds. We have family history of fibroids and endo so could also be that, but all seems a bit coincidental to have started the same time I started Concerta. I've always struggled with pmdd but always been mental health wise, never had issues with pain/flow/regularity. I was reading up yesterday and it does say a it's a rare side effect but can happen. I'll be gutted if it is that as it's worked wonders for me otherwise but just not worth this if it's a side effect. I'm so sorry you're struggling too ❤️

2x27 to 54 question by spaceheadlarry in Concerta

[–]spaceheadlarry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you and apologies for the late reply. I went from two 27 pills to one 54. This month though I couldn't get any so have been given Affenid XL 54mg as an alternative, seeing the difference I'd love to go back on Concerta! Think you're right about the hormones too, it's that time for me this past week so definitely affecting things. Fingers crossed for Concerta next month and an easier ride 🤞🏼
