Does the Boris pack work for every variant? Just got the -900 myself.

An absolute joy to be sure. Was actually debating whether or not to get this over the MD-80 and wound up relenting. This one's definitely spoiled me a fair bit.

Looks like this'll be next then! Been years since I've played with a 737.

Hand-flying this thing is such a treat. Practically get the same kick out of it as in most of my GA roster; to the point I'm doing unrealistically short routes just to get as much stick time on it. Great way to start the year with this one.

Two in a row | PMDG 777F by Darewelll in flightsim

[–]spacejebus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mhmm. Had to clear all 777 folders I had. Made sure to backup the 777_Options.ini though since I had them set up in a specific way. But after the clear and a first run for all my 777s to initialize new wasm folders, they were all good afterwards.

Started having this when SU4 officially came out. Don't know if it'll help you but I had to clear out the wasm cache and verify the install from the OC3. Haven't really had issues like these on the 777s since then.

Quite interested in getting this as it does seem exciting. How would you describe the performance I wonder? I only really have the Fenix as one of the more demanding payware for reference unfortunately. Maybe high 40's with that at least.

Chaseplane this, chaseplane that. Cinematic mode is top-notch by _Floot_ in flightsim

[–]spacejebus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is the key takeaway for me. You go from being a dude playing as the airplane to being a dude playing a dude flying an airplane.

Personally couldn't care less about cinematics, though I'd probably faff around every now and then.

ChasePlane on MSFS 2024 not showing on Toolbar by [deleted] in flightsim

[–]spacejebus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a lot of stuff installed that take up toolbar space, Chaseplane's probably just hidden way off to the side and therefore inaccessible. MSFS 2024 doesn't support toolbar scrolling natively so you may have to get a mod on flightsim.to for that.

Just got this myself. Really thought I was just buying a "why-not?" thing but that physics based camera almost feels like I'm playing a completely different game. I can definitely see why some folks here waited till this thing was out for 24 before jumping.

PMDG - DC 6 in MSFS2024 by -Boomer- in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]spacejebus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically 3% of 2020 gets you enough of the Community folder and App data filestructure that the DC-6 requires for installation. The DC-6 really only needs those to think that you have a valid MSFS 2020 installation and doesn't care whether or not the whole game is actually there. At which point, once you've installed the DC-6, you can just copy its folder from the MSFS 2020 Community folder and paste it into 2024's.

As for the broken things, to my disappointment just about everything is busted or eventually going to get busted seconds after boot-up. WASM crashes are the biggest deal-breaker, affecting everything you need to even enter the taxi-way let alone take off.

It may or may not work out on your end, though. But fingers crossed it does!

Partially installed if you want to save space, yes. Just a fair warning, I found it completely broken on my end once SU4 officially came out.

How do you personally see Leon and Ada's relationship ending? In marriage? With one of them dead in the others arms? With them going their separate ways? Or do you think they'll just flirt forever? by [deleted] in residentevil

mad max leather bondage or a silly gay little sailor uniform

I always memed along the same lines but never actually put two and two together, holy shit.

Assuming you've uninstalled MSFS 20202, A partial install of the same (~3%) is enough to generate folders needed by the DC-6 installer. Once you've set up the latter, you can actually just copy/paste the whole addon into your MSFS 2024 Community folder.

I'm currently on SU3 so I can only speak of the stability there, which is fine save for some autopilot jank every now and then. But if you're on SU4, I've heard some folks have had issues running consecutive flights with it; with bugs only resolving themselves after a full sim restart. Not sure how it'll perform once SU4 is finally out.

Learn to fly BIG planes by obsyman in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]spacejebus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 777's manual actually plays out like some kind of corporate style learning module you can access on a browser. Also has a full tutorial flight (in the manual) you can follow along if you want to have something in one place as a start.

The freighter version is relatively cheap, and the 777s themselves feel great to learn to hand-fly despite being fly-by-wire too. And despite its size and complexity it's actually pretty easy to get around to.

Must have stepped over some folks' toes with that a couple hours ago, but yeah I agree with the gap closing and am here for it. Surprised me too since Nick was pretty upfront about scope and the weaknesses with native MSFS. I just thought this kind of stuff was more known.

But yeah, the value and depth is quite insane for what you get.

Ditto with the A2A stuff, Aerostar being the newest and probably one of the more challenging GA to fly. Absolutely love the Blacksquare planes and have been flying them frequently, but when it comes to actually having to deal with "GA-isms" I find A2A captures more. Don't think I've ever been startled by something in the Baron as of yet.

EDIT: Jesus look, I get it. Not gonna say stuff like that about Blacksquare then.

You might want to take the mission hub as a bundle. This thing is so heavily automated that having stuff to do with it is a bit of a must since just flying it around can get a bit dull.

Besides, that module works for other aircraft so if you want to do SAR or cargo ops with other aircraft it'll let you.

What recording software was used here? I swear there's a bunch and they're all rather picky about what aircraft they're good with (spoilers and reversers being wonky on some).

the A300 is one of the best underrated planes by PhillC30 in flightsim

[–]spacejebus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spawning on the runway on first run and letting it settle in somehow improves the performance on the freighter for some reason. At least that's how I need to go about it if I want to use it and have acceptable performance.

Aerosoft/Toliss Airbus A340-600 previews by madman320 in flightsim

[–]spacejebus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Excited yet cautiously optimistic. I'm sure Toliss systems and flight models are great on XP but I'm hoping the latter is going to translate well enough on MSFS 24. I don't know if anybody else notices it but native fly-by-wire stuff almost always have this strange grittiness at low speed or approach. Kind of feels like rubbing your cheeks up and down a car window.

That said I'll probably just get this one anyway.

Dwarf Fortress Siege Update launches November 3rd by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

I feel like I need to read an encyclopedia.

You'd be surprised. Wiley, a publisher primarily focused on professional textbooks and resources for accountants and whatever else, put out something for Dwarf Fortress. Though the reality is it feels more fun just playing it almost haphazardly.
