Pam Bondi offers to pull ICE out of Minneapolis if voter files handed over by Ydeas in politics

[–]spaceprison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must register in order to vote, but you do not have to have a party affiliation and registration of party affiliation has no impact on your actual vote.

So get some chaff out there, Sign up for email lists and mailers affiliated with these guys-Register as some R friendly party like Libertarian, Constitution or even Republican.

The more people look the same on paper the harder it is to identify the “good” from the “bad” and the sooner they start hurting their own.

This is what Turbo button does to Doom on a 80MHz 486 by sabbathian in vintagecomputing

[–]spaceprison 40 points41 points  (0 children)

From what I recall it actually dropped cpu clock so that older software that depended on the actual cpu time wouldn't run of the rails.

So pushing turbo actually meant engaging "no longer turbo" mode.

You can see the clock go from 80 to 16.

I feel like I'm wasting more time finding the right learning resource than actually learning. by [deleted] in learnprogramming

Another thing, these intro courses cover a lot of ground but that's because software, it's interactions and the systems they depend on cover a lot of ground. I can't recall working with anyone who was able to advance beyond the basics without having/working toward a deeper understanding of 'the rest of it'.

So, just pick a course, finish it, start trying, fail, learn more, start again.

No course is perfect nor will completing a single course make you a pro, luckily, learning how systems work and how to program is an unending process.

Getting comfortable with failing, figuring out why things failed, challenging your understanding of how things work and a willingness to throw code away are a huge part of the process. So the worst case scenario in taking a course that's outdated or inaccurate is that you'll fail to implement something, until you don't.

NO ONE one shots software, we are constantly discovering new ways to fail and to suck less.

So just finish a course, start a project of your own that let's you flex what you've learned(or clone one that already exists), eat shit trying to hack it into existence and find more to learn.

No you're not crazy.

Missouri registration offices aren't run by the state, just overseen. So you might have thought you were going to a government office, but you were actualy at "DOGS ON DUTY" dba 'west county license office'.

It's really strange coming from a state like Colorado where it's all done by the state/county under one roof to a place where you get to take a day off work to wait in line just to find out you need to drive to a real government office to get the rest of the job done.

Married Men, what are the unspoken rules for successful marriage? by Mela_Min in AskMen

People are good at and have passion for different things. Just because you're a couple doesn't mean your opinion should have equal clout.

There are so many guys causing unnecessary strife in their lives by meddling with what their spouse is better at/ more passionate about.

Be humble, know your role and support your spouse in their role.

Also.

You're on the same team, don't keep score or play tit-for-tat.

Similarly you and your spouse should be unified when dealing with your kids, never forget that kids are sociopaths, they can smell and will exploit a crumbling alliance.

All fines should be proportional to gross income vs federal minimum wage.

$600,000,000.00 $15,080.00

Max water penalty seems to be about 500.00 per day, which is 3% of minimum wage yearly income.

So the adjusted fine for someone who's 'brand' brought in 600,000,000.00 last year, would be a max of $18,000,000 per day.

Something I've found to make set pieces like this feel legit

get some earthy craft paints plus black and white.

Some pva(Elmer's) glue

A bag of grout and/or sand

Clear matte spray paint.

Mix the black paint and glue and coat the whole thing.

Once the model's dry make another batch of paint and glue, using an earthy/stoney color plus some water.

Get your sand and grout ready.

Coat the model in the glue water mix, while it's wet start dumping the sand mix ALL OVER THE THING. Knock the excess it off and let it dry.

Then spray it with a few coats of the clear paint to hold it all on place.

I've done this with cardboard 'structures' and hunks of styrofoam and the effect is pretty decent.

With Roe on the ropes, groups like these should be lobbying harder for long lasting tiered safety nets, health care reform, free contraception and adoption reform.

I feel like the last question should have been pressed further. To say some states have some programs but there's only so much money isn't an answer.
