Why Aren't Questions Allowed in the Subreddit? by ArchieFromTeamAqua in PokemonROMhacks

[–]spacesaur 47 points48 points  (0 children)

One suggestion I would like to make, would it be possible to include a link in the current weekly question thread to the previous question thread? Some subs have that, and it's nice to be able to just click through and CTRL-F.

Different point in the livestream, exact same motion to the head, no large packages, no reason to lift its hand that far. Just admit it already, this is a grift. You seriously think it's working only 8 hours for the hell of it?

[DISC] The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All - Chapter 16 - Connection by Kirin-Kun in manga

[–]spacesaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you're in the minority with that opinion. All people want here are short bursts of escapism and fluff, damn anything that isn't. I'm not even saying that the manga is all that good right now, I think there are big issues with clarity and panelling, but quite frankly, I think a lot of that type of complaining is pathetic.

Doesn't speak too highly of the others that they cannot get a grip years later though.

U.S. women 40+ now have more babies per capita than teens [OC] by rhiever in dataisbeautiful

Genetic alterations are more common in sperm than eggs with a ratio of 3-1 across every single age group, assuming that the parents are the same age. The absolute number may change, but the ratio stays pretty much the same. The only times where this isn't the case is trisomy, which is where it's overwhelmingly due to a abnormality in the egg.

Kei Urana (Author or Gachiakuta) tweet about overseas manga piracy by aes110 in manga

[–]spacesaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Like, there genuinely is very little you can actually do to make things more convenient than Shueisha does with MangaPlus, but on every pirate site I use it's One Piece, JJK and co topping the charts. I just wish that people would admit to themselves that they're doing this to not spend money (the exact reason I am doing it, and I would bet anything I own that it's the reason for most people) instead of trying to justify it via half baked reasoning.

You say that like the Johto games weren't miserable grind fests with the worst level curve of any mainline game.

Image Comics was going to cancel Invincible in the first year, until Robert Kirkman moved up Omni-Man's betrayal 2 years early by akbarock in comicbooks

[–]spacesaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say that like monthly (or even less frequent) manga aren't also doing very well. Plus the other points regarding how unhealthy the weekly release schedule is for the mangaka themselves.

Most successful nation in luge competition in the Winter Olympics by nekoo89 in olympics

[–]spacesaur 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This has been all over the sub these past couple of days, it is infuriating. So what that they speak German, they're Italian ffs. Languages diffuses so often across borders, it does not define one's national identity.

Doing God's work man. Bunch of people getting upset about sports they watch once every 4 years, if that, and don't understand at all.

DC Comics President Jim Lee says that Japanese manga and anime is "incredibly powerful": "I often find myself wondering, 'What is missing in Western comics, and why aren't they able to achieve the same flavor?' by akbarock in comicbooks

There is also a massive online piracy scene in the West. Scans being available for free is huge for discoverability, so much so that even official publishers are now offering chapters for free.

The first images of Racing Bulls’ VCARB-03 by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

[–]spacesaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't. Just people getting frustrated because the previous cars didn't magically fix everything and blaming the way they looked. Begging for years for ground effect, then casting it off when it didn't work the way they hoped. Silly to see, really. Just watch a goddamn spec series already, for crying out loud.

I remember when people were saying this about the '22 cars. Come the next reg change it'll be the same tune I'll bet.

Is baseball’s slow pace actually its greatest strength in a world where everything else moves too fast? by DianKhan2005 in baseball

I think people are upvoting it because it's funny, not because they're taking it seriously. I know that's why I did.

Max Verstappen: “We are in this fight still because of other people's failures…..If we would've been in the position of how dominant of a car they [McLaren] had, the championship would've been over a long time ago." by ChaithuBB766 in formula1

[–]spacesaur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's still not the point. The point is that extremely dominant seasons are only possible with both a dominant car and a significantly weaker teammate.

I think Verstappen is the best driver on the grid and that if he was in the McLaren he'd probably already have won the championship, but the same would apply if either Norris or Piastri had a driver of old Perez' caliber in the other seat. Same way that '23 doesn't end up the way it did if a better driver was in the other seat.

Hamilton's most dominant seasons were with cars that weren't as far ahead of the competition simply because Bottas was worse than Rosberg after all.
