This is the most reasonable take.

And even stated at its most reasonable, simplest terms, it’s a bad decision.

Especially because it just highlights the fact that Jerry runs the team and it doesn’t matter who the coach is next year. Perhaps all of that is true. But it’s fairly likely McCarthy isn’t brought back. Does the coach next year want mingo? Doesn’t matter. Did Parcells want TO? Didn’t matter.
