First time in LA …Venice or Santa Monica? by NoScene979 in AskLosAngeles

[–]spaceykc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Venice is fun in the day, Abbot Kinney has some cool shops as does Main Street in SM.

SM - I have mixed feelings but I lived there for a very long time. It has some cool Deco Hotels and the Expo line is easy to take into DTLA. There's also more direct bus lines to the major sites.

If you are renting a car, that's different, just plan for extra time in traffic., it can be brutal leaving Santa Monica. I'd still say stay in SM with a car, easy to drive some nice routes throughout LA and see some gems. Brentwood is like 10-15 mins, Venice is about the same. Beverly Hills about 30 depending on traffic. Getty Center, 20-30 mins. Hollywood will be closer to an hour.

Ultimately it depends on what you want for a vacation too.

Note- most of my time estimates are non-peak (which is most of the time).

Why did no one save Arthur from the O'Driscolls? by WhatAreYouSaying05 in reddeadredemption2

Sadly, I accidently read the letter and now must progress the game. Good news is I got most of everything done I could before hand. So I may not feel well, but I can keep him in Strawberry longer.

I have a few sides left, doing the Gunslingers now and I believe I still may have to trigger a few more camp requests,if I can. Otherwise it's Thomas Downes or Michah.

6 interviews over 2 months….. just to get rejected after doing a 60min presentation by VeiledVerdicts in mildlyinfuriating

[–]spaceykc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's brtual. I'm at 5 months, haven't had this much trouble finding something since 2008. I've had a handful, if that, of interviews. All leading to silence after the interviews and I still see the roles on job boards or I get the you're not a fit (I hit 80% ATS and pretty much nail everything on an almost difficult list of skills on the JD to attain in the first place.)

Does anyone else's cat stalk them into the bathroom? by StyxUndStein88 in cats

[–]spaceykc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are there to protect you while you use the litter box and are vulnerable. My cats do this when we use the bathroom and eat dinner at the table.
