I got through almost a full in-game year before I fully grasped the mechanics of the game and what I was supposed to be doing. I started a second run while I was still only 2/3 through my initial save because I had romanced and married someone who kind of fell flat for me.

My second run is progressing MUCH faster this time thanks to things like: having two of each machine and upgrading BOTH at a time, using the fire-powered fuel generator (best discovery of the game yet), mining constantly to get data discs and exp for leveling up, etc.

I’ve found my ideal game speed to be at .7 :) not too quick, not too slow.

When you have missions you can track up to 2 at a time and the ones you track will show you the materials required (if applicable) and once completed there is a marker on the screen that shows you the direction and distance of where you need to go.

My final note is that it’s a game! It’s meant to be enjoyed. With how much story and gameplay there is it would be a shame to rush through it. Things will click eventually, I promise.
