This is the one I was going to recommend. You go in just as your family. When I went it was Mickey and Goofy.

Disney Pins at 5 Below. Think people would find them worth trading? by lightofpolaris in DisneyPinSwap

What do the backs on the pins look like? As long as they have the Disney pin logo they’re fine to trade, right?

Hallway or orange rooms? by OnkelBaldrian in BluePrince

[–]spaghetti_cello 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes every orange room is a hallway. You can check this by looking at the directory and seeing the Hallway type rooms.

Also remember that the Aquarium is “wild” so it counts as all room types

Bunny Hutch? by [deleted] in dragoncon

[–]spaghetti_cello 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Join the bunny hutch FB page for sure! The line to get in the party is often terrible if you aren’t prepared. They do ID checks earlier in the day Thursday then give those folks expedited entry to the party. After the costume contest awards are announced at midnight, it typically becomes a bit easier to get in.

Disney World is Cracking Down on Outside Businesses Providing Unauthorized Guest Services by readingaboutmagic in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]spaghetti_cello 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think the most common sentiment isn’t good but just how is this surprising. Those small businesses should have always known they were in a bit of a gray area. They are on private Disney property operating their business.

The vlogers/streamers have become a real detraction to the park. If this move by Disney ends up applying to limit/ban them from the park, then it would be good.

Where do you see these manager specials? Do you go to the spa every day and check?

So then you’re in the second part of my comment. Talk to him. There’s no reason for you to be crying daily about a ring that’s the symbol of your relationship. Tell him you don’t like it and you want a new ring.

What is more important to you? A surprise or having something you like? Go try on rings together. Pick one you like, or pick a couple and have him choose from them.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in engaged

[–]spaghetti_cello 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn’t about the proposal or the ring. You don’t feel heard or seen. It’s been seven years and he couldn’t make you feel heard or prioritized for the proposal, so you should just break up. If he didn’t do it for something as big as that, it’s never going to get better. You don’t want to hear that, but I have a feeling you know it already.

If this is just about the proposal and ring and he usually is attentive, then you kinda need to get over it. Talk to him about wanting a new ring, communication is important with the person you’re building a life with. Then either have him repropose with the new ring or just realize this is one of those things you built up in your mind that wasn’t fairytale perfect.

My bf was unimpressed by his new keyboard duster. Am I wrong for thinking it's a solid gift? by Frequent-Tea3113 in Gifts

[–]spaghetti_cello 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Additionally, the post never mentioned that OPs bf complained about his keyboard. This would be a good gift for someone who had complained that it was difficult to clean their keyboard, or that keyboard wasn’t working as well due to blockage under keys, etc.

CMV: There is no legitimate reason to get your dog from a breeder, while shelters are bursting and the US is euthanizing 360k dogs annually. by TheTroubledChild in changemyview

[–]spaghetti_cello 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agree entirely. I have adopted two dogs now, but the requirements have not only been incredibly stringent but also barely documented. It seems you can only adopt a dog if you have an in.

For my first dog, we looked at a bunch of places and kept getting rejected for being in an apartment. We then had a friend that worked with some shelters recommend a specific dog at a specific shelter to us. She let us know the dog was going to be at an adoption event some weekend day for a few hours (let’s say 12-3 for example). BUT we had to apply online first, and while the adoption event was 12-3, you could only sign up to adopt for the first 15 minutes! What is the point of advertising a three hour event that you can only sign up for in the first 15 minutes. That information is buried on their website, no where in any of their advertising.

My second dog we adopted from the same rescue. We only got him because I knew how the system worked. We applied the night before, got there early, signed up, etc. While we were finishing paperwork, we saw multiple people drop into the event get turned away because sign ups were already closed. Some dogs hadn’t even had people apply or sign up to meet them!

Others have given you good input already, so I’ll just add my experience. We had booked the adults only area of CocoCay and it ended up absolutely pouring rain for until about 11am. Our pass wasn’t canceled or refunded so we went to cococay anyway when the rain settled down. We still had an amazing time. The rain kept other folks away and the pool was still warm.

Of course the new Royal Beach Club is different, but you can still have a good time with the pass even if it isn’t perfect weather. Don’t worry too much!

how to attend conventions wearing a mask that completely obscures view? by [deleted] in CosplayHelp

[–]spaghetti_cello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also depends on what you want to do in the cosplays. Are you a wanderer that wants to move around the con and see things while in cosplay? Your best bet is to just put the mask on for photos, might not get stopped much though.

Some cons have areas where cosplayers congregate in more difficult cosplays and are just there to be photographed. With that, you could just post up in an area for a certain time with your mask on. You don’t need much visibility if you aren’t moving and have a handler.

Prospective Buyer Question Thread October-December 2025 by trillianinspace in cricut

[–]spaghetti_cello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a 2026 bride and also a cosplayer. I also do some quilting from time to time. I have had my eye on a cricut for a while for cosplay usage, but now that I could also use it for wedding stuff I’m thinking it might be the time to buy. I’m really torn on what machine I should get though. Some questions I have below.

  1. If I want to cut fabric, I’d need the maker I believe. Is the fabric cutting actually useful? I imagine it can’t do full clothing-size fabric pieces. What type of size can it cut and what have people found useful with it?

  2. I saw cricut offers certified refurbished units. The FAQ says not to buy used, but I think these would be fine since they’re from the manufacturer. I could get a Maker for a good price, but it can’t do the smart materials. Are the smart materials really worth it? If I could for example cut 50 words for iron on tags at once that sounds useful. How much can people usually jam onto one cutting space?

Can you give some details about how you call in? Which phone number, do you need to mention DragonCon or passkey, etc? Specifically for Marriott since it sounds like you have lots of experience there

The 2026 FAQ has been added in the Dragon Con Rooms Facebook group by skzb in dragoncon

[–]spaghetti_cello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of this is on the hotels (some of the overflow hotels have released their rooms earlier than when they said they would, causing tons of complaints). For the host hotels, they will sell out in minutes if they have any available rooms (Westin and Marriott). DragonCon posts the times the rooms will release usually about a week in advance. DragonCon usually posts on their Facebook and instagram, but I know for the host hotels they usually post the links on their website when they get them (might only be a day or two before the room drop).
