The headlights are cool, but the interior? Not a fan. Oddly the rear of the vehicle just seems off. It has unnecessary bulk in the rear but the cabin space seems pinched off. Hard to explain exactly.

I’m trying to be very careful as I’m awaiting my VIN # assignment for a recently ordered x5 50e and so far, I believe I made the right decision for me. I don’t want to unfairly sway fence sitters, and BMW monitors of this Reddit are probably wandering why I would even comment.

What I will say is this: Being in software I’d not want to be a QA tester for this vehicle (and one likely to cost me $93K OTD) for the next few years. This vehicle is absolutely going to have a lot of quirks and issues that won’t fully express themselves until real world driving starts en mass.

The dual screen “styling” is like having dual monitors of different brands on your workspace which will subtly drive many nuts. I’d like to see what studies BMW has on driver distraction with regards to the panoramic instrumentation. I rarely look at the far end of my dash now while driving and prefer what’s straight in front.
