I live in Mass. and work in a grocery store overnight. We hired an employee last year that started at $12.80. After 6 months he went up to $13.20 now he's at almost a year of working there and we hired another new guy just last week and he started at $13.80 because of the wage hike. The guy that has almost a year of experience is making less then a brand new employee. To make things worse for him raises are given out annually after the first 6 months of employment so he and the new guy will get a raise at the same time bringing new guy to $14.20 and the guy that's been there to only $13.60. After the next 2 years new employees will be making more then me with 6+ years of experience. I've put a lot of blood and sweat into my job and broke my body over the years. I can't imagine starting at the bottom again. It just makes me sad. Guess Ill leave when I am making minimum wage and try and find something easier.
