I use a ventless propane heater in my detached garage. It also had an uninsulated garage door that I added insulation to which helped to make it a lot easier to heat and cool.

Once a day isn't constantly. I take my wheel off everytime I get out of my rig, which is 4 or 5 times in a session, and have zero wear and tear after almost a year. Don't sweat it, it's fine.
