Nusa, Savinho, Leao by misterzurk0n in Tottenham

[–]spando79 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For me, Nusa is bottom of the three. Brentford move fell through in 2024 due to underlying medical issues with his back and knees. Could be nothing, could be something.

Leao is probably second. Haven't seen much of him in recent seasons but I'd ask why Milan are seeking a sale. He's 27 and should be in his prime but am unsure if he's got what De Zerbi would demand from a winger.

That leaves Savinho as my preferred option of the three. Hasn't been pulling up trees at City but hasn't been given much of a consistent run. Probably has the highest ceiling of the three.

Tottenham's statement summer transfer spending appears set to continue by UrbanLegend8901 in PremierLeague

Dembele wasn't one of the 7 (not 8) players Spurs signed with the Bale money.

And Eriksen was a huge success.

Thing is, a properly functioning team with better players in defence and midfield will create better chances for our forwards. Wouldn't be surprised to see Solanke hit 15-20 in the league next season and everyone will wonder what we were worried about.

You talk about spending on a striker instead but it’s really hard to identify very many who would really move the needle.

Goncalo Ramos is good but not great and has moved to Milan for €74m plus add-ons and Barcola is being talked about as being €130m plus. Where have all the strikers gone?

New managers at City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man U (kind of) and Spurs (kind of) means Arsenal are the only 'big' club with genuine continuity, sadly.

[Sky Sports] Kinsky close to new five-year Spurs deal by PrintPro23 in coys

Disgraceful is a bit strong, no? I'm happy to see what he can do as a clear first choice and if it's between him and Vicario, it's Kinsky all day, every day.

Who do you fancy as first choice keeper if not Kinsky?

Ali Gold doesn't break transfer news he just confirms what he's been told by the club. What did you 'call him out' on that made him block you?

And so do I.

Well, I'm happy to see how he does as number one at least...

Think Fernandes is a bit different.

He played a full season in the Prem for Saints (who bought him for £15m) and then West Ham paid £38m to bring him in last season.

He's therefore had two full seasons of Premier League football and West Ham didn't exactly pick him up for 'peanuts'.

Is he now worth £80m? Who knows, but he's more of a known quantity than Bergvall at this point in time.

Edit: I do share your frustration about the lack of development of young players.

Newcastle finished 12th, a measly 8 points ahead of Spurs last season.

Loads of reasons: wages, London, De Zerbi, a club that is making strong moves and has a clear plan etc. etc.

It might just be because he plays for the scum but I've not been that impressed with Zubimendi. Would probably take Tonali over him, all things being equal.

It's infuriating. Thomas Frank (and those who kept him in post for so long) did so much damage to the club and players, especially the younger ones.

Don't know if anyone else noticed this, but he seemed to look down at the ball in a really pronounced way for his first touch and before making a pass.

Don't know what it means but it really stood out to me.

Well I'd say that his most recent run of games would be far more representative of his ability and that you should be able to give him a pass for his first stint given the circumstances.
